This is what access looks like.

The BMAC LIVE R&B Tour Edition took young people beyond the stage and behind the scenes of one of the biggest tours of the year.

Across the country, participants stepped inside the real business of live entertainment. Production. Ticketing. Wardrobe. Venue operations. Soundcheck. Touring. The teams and systems that make a stadium show happen every night.

For BMAC, this was never just about giving young people a backstage experience. It is about creating a pathway into an industry that too often feels impossible to enter.

Exposure becomes experience.
Experience becomes opportunity.
Opportunity becomes a career.

We are building the next generation of executives, producers, tour managers, creatives and live entertainment professionals in real time.

From classrooms to stages. From curiosity to careers.

That is BMAC LIVE.

Thank you to our partners, mentors, touring teams and every young person who showed up ready to learn, work and dream bigger.

And we are just getting started.

The 6th Annual BMAC Gala was more than a night. It was a reflection of what can happen when an entire community shows up for the mission.

Thank you to Ann Haggart (BMAC), Donna Grecco (Primary Wave), Rikki Hughes (Magic Lemonade) Ashley Raymond (Door Hawks), James Muhammad (New World Academy Foundation) Jalysa Scales (Upscale Entertainment), and every person who gave their time, energy and talent to help bring this night to life.

A special thank you to the BMAC participants who worked throughout Gala week. Seeing the next generation learning, working and contributing at this level is exactly what this organization is about. Creating access. Building experience. Opening doors.

And to every record label, PRO, publisher, streaming platform, company, executive and supporter who purchased a table, bought a ticket, placed an ad in our program book, sponsored the evening or simply showed up for BMAC, thank you.

This Gala was our “Love Letter to Black Music”.

But the WORK is what gives that LOVE meaning.

There was only one way to close out a night built around honoring Black music, Black culture and the people who continue to move both forward.

Big Daddy Kane surprised the room at the 6th Annual BMAC Gala and brought the evening home with performances of “Smooth Operator” and “Warm It Up, Kane.”

A true architect of hip hop. An artist whose style, lyricism, presence and influence helped shape a generation and still lives through the culture today.

After a night celebrating icons, trailblazers, change agents and visionaries, having Kane take the stage was the perfect final statement.

This Gala was our Love Letter to Black Music. To its history. To its power. To the artists who built it. And to the generations who will carry it forward.

And when Big Daddy Kane hit that stage, the whole room felt it.

Some songs are more than songs. They become part of an artist’s story.

“You Are My Friend” is woven into the legacy of the incomparable Ms. Patti LaBelle, carrying the love, spirit and connection she has given audiences for generations.

At the 6th Annual BMAC Gala, Grammy Award winning powerhouse Le’Andria Johnson stepped into that legacy and delivered a soul stirring rendition as part of our tribute to BMAC Icon Award recipient Patti LaBelle.

Le’Andria did not simply sing the song. She honored the woman, the voice and the spirit behind it. She took us to church and gave Patti her flowers in a way you could feel throughout the entire room.

One extraordinary voice honoring another.

One generation saluting an icon whose influence continues to shape Black music.

Backed by our incredible musical directors, 1500 or Nothin.

This was more than a performance.

It was love, respect and gratitude for Ms. Patti LaBelle.

Our love letter to an icon. Our love letter to Black Music.
