The Pitch Meeting is a musical movement, breaking new ground and cultivating a vibrant songwriting community in the heart of Music City. The centerpiece of the movement is Nashville's first "songwriter pitch night", an event where rising songwriting talents have the opportunity to showcase their songs, with the world-class Pitch Meeting band backing them up and bringing their songs to life. It is

a forum where the vision of the songwriter meets some of Nashville's finest musicianship, and what results is the basis for one of the city's most exciting and fastest-growing new communities. Spontaneity, originality, explosive talent, and a supportive atmosphere make The Pitch Meeting one of a kind.

I hope the world knows more and more how much of a monster musician you are. I can’t wait to hear all the music you are about to put out in the world. • A MESSAGE FROM ERIC FORTALEZA •

Hey everybody. Eric here. We have been hosting Pitch Meeting for 6 years now and nothing beats seeing all the artists that have been continually chasing their dreams around our community. But here’s a fun fact, chasing your dreams is very hard. Sometimes you forget when you are right in the thick of it because what you are worrying about is the expense report of your current tour to see if “chasing your dreams” is economically viable.

But I think that’s what being an artist means. Not the toxic “it needs to hurt” mindset. But the understanding that there’s a price to pay to take on the responsibility of an artist. Not everyone is willing to pay that price, and that’s okay. At the same time, I want people to see that this is beyond finance. The price is “time”. Time that could have been with your family. Time that could have been spent partying. Time that could have been spent.. resting. Artistry is not for the weary. It takes risks.

You are required to be bold & sensitive at the same time. I spent 6 years telling everybody to chase their dream. It would be disingenuous of me not to chase my own. So to every artist around me, whether I like your music or not (haha). Keep sharing. That’s it.

Your job is not to present perfection.
Your job is share where you are currently at.

Running around the country with a 6 piece band is taking alot out of me. But, I am grateful to be in a place that I’ve been dreaming about for a very long time.

Some people get jealous of the success.
Not everyone is jealous of the hard work it takes.

So here is a reminder that I say all the time.. (note: this is more for me than to the people I say it to).

Hey Katie, Eric here. We are right in the middle of our 30 hour drive from California back to Nashville. Thank you for hosting Pitch Meeting tonight. There’s a few people in my life that I don’t remember how we specifically met. It’s one of those friendships that fit like a glove that once we met, it was like.. “oh, we have been friends forever”.

I am so grateful for you and Cav in my life. You guys are the epitome of that family can exist outside of blood. Our lives, friendship and community just intertwined organically and everything just made sense. I also love how similar we are, which makes sense why my friendship with Cav also has synergy.

Both of you have been huge parts of my life. Everything about my life has gotten better because you guys are part of it. From the early days of Pitch Meeting, everything related to Moga Family Band and even Tabitha and I’s wedding. You guys have literally made everything better. Thank you.

Thank you for always pushing & challenging me to be better in every aspect. You guys are gonna kill it tonight.

• WALKER BURROUGHS •

Hey Walker. Eric here. I’m sitting outside Scott’s house doing laptop work, getting ready before we fly out at 7am tomorrow morning for the rest of the Moga Family Band shows in California. I just wanted to share this really important moment that you gave me a couple of years ago.. maybe mid 2022-2023.

Running this organization takes alot of will power and passion. Most times you definitely don’t get to see the fruit of your labors, or it takes a really really long time. I was driving on the Highway contemplating all the choices I’ve made. Wondering and thinking if anything I’m doing even has some kind of impact..

Then my phone rings.. it’s You.

Out of the blue you just thank me for every opportunity and what actual stuck out of the most was.. you thanked me for helping you be in a platform where you can find yourself. A stage that gave you every opportunity to just completely share who you are wholeheartedly. You said it helped you find who you truly are, or at least a step closer towards that. And that was it, then we ended the conversation.

Little did you know that I just cried during that drive. It was the necessary fuel to help me keep pushing. Here we are in 2026, you are taking over the whole night and I know for a fact you are just going to bring joy to everybody. I love you brother. Thank you.

Emme is currently driving, Jake is shotgun, Dekar and Owen are asleep. We are on the way California with the next step being Wichita, KS. I just wanted to say thank you so much for hosting Pitch Meeting. You know this already that your music and spirit and artists like you inspired this night.

This is a full circle moment because I was listening and watching to your videos and music when I still living in Sydney. You were part of my research of “music from Nashville that had more depth”. There’s not many people I trust to host this night, you obviously know that you are one of them. Thank you brother. I love you. Thank you for supporting this thing that I love so much.
