This is bird feeding month! This article explains how important it is to keep your feeders clearn and how to do that!!
The Wood Thursh shop is where I buy my seed. John is knowledgeable and carries on the best quality feed. When you buy feed a a big box store there is always a lot of seed in it that birds do not even eat as filler --- ALSO John can help you choose a feeder that is truly squirrel proof. Though I do feed in a ground feed less expensive feed trusting that the squirrels are getting that as well as ground feeders!

Brazil does food insecurity at school right!School menus have also been revised to promote both healthy eating and economic goals. Since 2009, a rule has required that at least 30% of federal funds go to produce supplied by small-scale or family farms, with preference given to local suppliers.

Free school lunches, a pillar of Brazil's anti-poverty efforts, are now one of its main weapons against surging post-pandemic hunger. And that's not the only benefit.

Did you know that the cedar glade ecosystem primarily occurs in the Central Basin of Middle Tennessee? As this map shows, this unique ecosystem is found in Davidson, Rutherford, and Wilson counties, TN—and practically nowhere else. This also means that many of the rare and unique species that call cedar glades their home, like the Tennessee coneflower (Echinacea tennesseensis), exist nowhere else in the world.

It's Wish List Wednesday! Our biggest need this week is storage & enrichment. For our patients that were not well or big enough for the last fall release day, they will spend their winter with us. Just like humans, during winter time these special patients need stimulation, comfort and peace to get them through their extended stay. Can you help our humans bring them a little comfort?

For the past three years we have hosted almost 100 classes to close to 1000 students in our Growing Together classes. Subjects have been from canning to planning your garden, Indian cooking to all about tomatoes, watercolor painting and vertical gardening, baking with herbs to microgreens and everything in between!
