Tryouts are FUN! You’ll meet some returning members, go over what you learned about the team and why you want to be a part of this amazing organization, and of course show off some of your skills!
You will have 3 parts to your tryout.
1. Your interview! Tell us about YOU! We want to get to know you, your hobbies, your pet peeves, your experience in cheer or the nonprofit space, etc.
2. Your cheer skills! We will provide a cheer, dance and some motions/terminology for you and wed love to see how you show us your confidence!
And
3. Your freestyle! Have a dance background? Show us some of those sweet moves! Worked in a nonprofit before? Pitch us your growth ideas! Like arts & crafts? We wanna see your creative projects!

Photo reads: “Nashville Cheer is currently and always has been the ONLY adult nonprofit cheerleading team in Nashville benefiting that LGBTQIA community. There is another team that was formed by stealing money, practice space, and more from Nashville Cheer and has spread outlandish lies about us to garner support. It is heartbreaking that a statement like this needs to be made, but here we are.
Nashville cheer was created 2 years ago by me, a Black and Native disabled bisexual woman to make a space for all and that goal will always remain with us as we move into season 3.
With the future at the forefront, I will be stepping down as coach as of November 1 to move back to California as my mother is moving into hospice care due to her cancer moving to her bone. It has been a battle for us as a family and for me as a human to deal with this while being maligned and deserted by former friends and teammates.
l ask that all our supporters continue to support us in our mission to spread love and light and happiness to the community here in the south.
