What an amazing year it’s been in our Embrace Grace groups. So much to be thankful for. As we enter the summer months and take a break from our regular Wednesday night activities for a time, join us as we continually lift these women in prayer and ask the Lord to bless them, provide for them, protect them, and keep them in his perfect peace.

Embrace Grace exists to be a beacon of light in dark places where many women feel alone and isolated. We love ALL our moms and teach them about their inherent value as image bearers of God. We adamantly oppose any messages that would undermine this truth of scripture.

At Embrace Grace we believe ALL are worthy of love because God loved ALL of us first. Every single mom we meet is a fellow image bearer. A “neighbor” who Jesus commanded us to love as we love ourselves. There is always room around our table for one more.

If you, like others I have heard from, are having difficulty “finding Christmas” this year because of the hustle and bustle or the stress and strain of making things seem just right, let me offer you something to help. What this image represents is truly remarkable. One little girl hugging her pastor after making her decision to follow Jesus and be baptized is the entire reason we celebrate this season at all. Jesus came to earth to seek and to save those who are lost without him. Yes the presents, food and festivities are fun and we should enjoy those things, but let’s not allow a moment of that to overshadow what took place inside of this young lady’s heart that was just between her and her Savior. Thank you Jesus for coming and making salvation possible for us all. Oh happy day!!

Oof. What a hard message. In group this week we talked about how when we arrive at the place where our ability to forgive doesn’t hinge on the other party’s capacity to apologize, true freedom and transformation happens. When we, so far as it depends on us, decide to live in harmony with others (even those who have harmed us, with proper boundaries in place) God says, “Vengeance belongs to me. I will repay.” He is our defender. Our rock. Our fortress. Our safe place. We can trust his perfect justice. Would you let God take this burden off you today?

Tonight we made a “God Can” which is a visual and physical reminder to cast our cares, worries, anxieties, stressors or fears on God and let him take it! Instead of ignoring or storing up these big feelings, our God Can reminds us to begin exploring them with Jesus and allow his comfort to heal us from the inside out. Look at those beautiful smiling faces! GOD CAN!!
