Red Spirits & Wine

Located off Highway 70S at the corner of Old Hickory Boulevard is a liquor store with everything that you need. And if you know what you want and they don't have it, they can order it for you.

When it comes to wine, they have one of the largest selections in Nashville, including Spanish reds, Italian reds, cabernets, merlots, chardonnay, and much, much more. And if you have a question, their staff is knowledgeable and can help you find what you're looking for or recommend something.

Spirits can also be had here, including unique bourbon, scotch, whiskey, rum, tequila, gin, etc., etc. Sometimes on "whiskey Wednesdays," they get in first-come-first-served shipments of rare bourbons such as Eagle Rare and Weller. They also have free tastings on certain days at their counter in the middle of the store.

They have a large craft beer selection with a growler filling station and a beer cave. In the back, they have the classic beers and seltzers that you can pick up out of their refrigerated cases. There is also a case of humidified ci**rs that you can pair with your spirit or wine.

HoneyFire BBQ - Located next to the AMC Theatre in One Bellevue Place, this is one of our favorite barbecue restaurants in all of Nashville. The "sweet-heat" that all of their food has is unmatched. I believe that this comes from the local honey that they use in their sauces and rubs. Hence the name (HoneyFire).

They are locally owned and operated and serve smoked meats, specialty sides, appetizers, and desserts. Their banana pudding is a must. They also have a full bar inside, which is stocked with many types of bourbon and local craft brews.

This spot is very casual, and your food is served quickly. Outdoor and indoor seating is available.

A section of the CSX Railroad crosses over Coley Davis Road. No railroad crossing lights are here, so the train will come through heavy on the horn.

CSX carries a variety of commodities through Tennessee, including consumer goods, automobiles, food, agricultural products, and coal.

Did you know that there is a craft brewery in our own backyard? Tailgate Brewery is located off of Charlotte Pike, and they specialize in small batch brews with a wide selection to suit most beer drinkers' palates. They also serve a delicious list of creative pizzas and appetizers.

This place is huge and filled with personality. The walls are covered in graffiti-like designs with two large rooms inside and a huge outdoor space. Shaded and unshaded picnic tables overlook the ridge outside, and the outdoor covered pavilion includes more tables and a large projector screen.

This is a nice spot to host an event or to try a flight of independent craft beer. Tailgate Brewery is a staple in the community.

This photo was taken along the 5.8-11.2 mile loop trails in Percy Warner Park. These 2 trails wind up and down the mossy ridges of the park. Signs designate the 5.8-mile loop versus the extended 11.2-mile loop. These 2 paved loops are closed off to vehicle traffic and are very popular with walkers, runners, and cyclists.

There is also a side route off the loop that leads to an overlook of the rolling hills and downtown buildings of Nashville.

Harpeth River State Park - Narrows of the Harpeth - Tunnel Trail

As promised in my previous post about the Narrows, here is where the 3rd trail leads! Originating from the same trailhead as the other 2 trails, this 0.7-mile easy out-and-back trail leads to the Montgomery Bell Tunnel.

This tunnel was built in 1819 at the direction of Montgomery Bell for his iron foundry that was located here. Utilizing a 16' drop from one side of the Narrows to the other, a 290' tunnel was created and used to help operate an iron forge in the area.

This tunnel is believed to be the first full-sized tunnel built in the United States. Now that the iron foundry is no longer in existence, a waterfall is left at the exit of the tunnel.
