Our September Employee Spotlight recognizes Jean Ross, Accounts Payable Specialist, whose dedication, reliability, kindness, and genuine willingness to help others make a meaningful difference every day.
After nearly six years with Harbor Care, Jean has become a valued and trusted member of the team. Known for being hardworking, responsive, and wonderful to work with, she consistently goes above and beyond her day-to-day responsibilities and is always ready to step in wherever she is needed.
In the absence of a dedicated receptionist at 77 Northeastern Blvd., Jean has taken on an informal but important role in assisting with deliveries, clients, and other visitors arriving in the lobby. She is often the friendly voice on the other end of the “doorbell,” making sure people get the assistance they need. Jean is also quick to help with administrative tasks and willingly steps in when her supervisor is away, doing whatever she can to keep things moving and support the team.
Jean has also contributed to improvements within Accounts Payable, including helping reorganize and scan vendor W-9s and credit card invoices into SharePoint. She plays an important role in preparing for audits and site visits by pulling invoices and gathering necessary documentation. Her attention to detail and willingness to take on these additional responsibilities help the team stay organized, prepared, and responsive.
What truly stands out about Jean is her humble and caring nature. She is always willing to help and is often the first to ask, “Can I help? Do you need any assistance?” That spirit of helpfulness extends to everything she does. She even contributes to the welcoming atmosphere in the Finance area by participating in the team’s seasonal decorations.
Outside of work, Jean has a special love for dogs (especially Twiggy) - a fitting reflection of the warmth and compassion she brings to work each day. She is also part of a strong team led by her supervisor, Kathy Guzman, whose example of dedication and teamwork is reflected in Jean’s own positive approach to her work and coworkers.
Jean may be humble about everything she does, but her contributions do not go unnoticed. Her willingness to step up, support her coworkers, and lend a helping hand wherever needed makes a difference throughout the organization.
