Nashua Fire Rescue, alongside Nashua Fire Fighters IAFF Local 789 and the Nashua Firemen's Relief Association, has recognized the dedicated teams at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for their exceptional care following the gas explosion at 440 Amherst Street.
A banner now displayed over Main Street in downtown Nashua honors the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and the many specialized and supporting staff who cared for injured firefighters and supported their families during a critical time.
“In our profession, we often speak about first responders. While our members arrive first on scene, it is the hospital staff standing ready in the emergency department, intensive care units, and throughout the hospital’s specialized and supporting teams who continue that call with skill, compassion, and unwavering commitment when it matters most.”
This recognition reflects the strong partnership between Nashua Fire Rescue and Southern New Hampshire Medical Center and a shared commitment to protecting the community. The Main Street banner stands as a symbol of appreciation and highlights the unique bond between those who respond to emergencies, whether on the street, in the firehouse, or within the walls of a hospital.
