The Pemigewasset Valley Chapter of the DAR is spreading a little holiday cheer by sending 250 holiday cards to Operation Care For Troops!

We hope these cards bring smiles to our deployed service members and remind them that they are remembered, appreciated, and never forgotten—especially during the holiday season.

We are preparing for the November Holiday Stocking care packages. Due to International Shipping requirements we are asking for product donations in place of filled stockings to meet these requirements. Check out our Amazon wish list … needed are beef jerky (.9 to 1.0 oz), individual protein bars and individual nut packages (2 oz).

Just a reminder that we have a Holiday Stockings Packing event coming up! November 11th to the 14th. If you would like to volunteer please do so on our website: OCTNH.org/volunteer. We also need cards and letters to written to our troops, drop off for those will be November 11th and 12th at the Nashua New Hampshire Army National Guard Armory 2:30 to 5:00. We now accept Venmo for shipping costs! If you would like to donate product we do have an Amazon wish list! Thank you in advance for your support!

October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, which is a good opportunity to talk about the dogs who do not finish our program.

Not every rescue we bring in turns out to be suited to service work. Some are too sensitive to busy public spaces, some have a medical issue that surfaces during training, and some are simply happier as pets. None of that is considered failure. It just means they belong in a family instead of a working harness.

Those dogs come to us socialized, worked with daily, and thoroughly loved by a lot of people, which tends to make them wonderful companions.

You can start an adoption application at operationdeltadog.org/adoption-application, and our team is always glad to talk through whether a particular dog is a good fit for your household.
