Services for Karen Bell will be Friday, Aug 13, 2021, at 10:30 Mountain Time, at the Nara Visa Community Center.
Karen was the soul of the Nara Visa Cowboy Gathering and each and every one of you performers, venders, and supporters was special to her. I would print address labels for her, but she always wanted to write your checks, etc so she could enclude a personal note. She loved you all. Rest in peace, Karen. You will be missed.

It is sad that we have to report that Yesterday We lost our dear Friend Mrs, Karen Bell. She was a mainstay of our organization. She will be missed by all. RIP Karen.

Dear Performers, Venders, and Others,

We were sure that by this year the Corona Virus would be a thing of the past, everyone would be well, and the 2021 Nara Visa Cowboy Gathering would be the best ever. We were wrong. The Corona Virus is still hanging around affecting our lives, we are not all well, and saddest of all, we have had to make the decision to cancel the 2021 Gathering.

Those who sponsor the Gathering through ads and donations have all suffered because of the Virus situation. We made the decision not to go to them and ask for monetary assistance. Also, we are in New Mexico and still are not suppose to gather in group, and who knows what the mandates will be in September.

Renee, Randy and I, and Doug are doing OK, but Karen, who is the ‘general brain’ of the Gathering, is not. Early this year Karen was diagnosed with liver cancer and no Doctor in Amarillo was able to help her. She had surgery on March 3rd in Dallas. Following the surgery she has had numerous situations arise which have forestalled the recovery. She is presently doing physical therapy and hopefully will be able to be released to Amarillo for more therapy in the next week or so. She is really anxious to come home as it's been seven weeks since she first went to the Amarillo doctor. Please pray for her. She still needs a lot of healing.

We will miss seeing everyone and pray that all will be back to normal next year and then we will have the ‘best ever’ Nara Visa Cowboy Gathering.

Nara Visa Gathering

The regular Nara Visa Cowboy Gathering for 2020 has been cancelled due to the current restrictions imposed because of the Corona Virus.
On Sept 26th we do plan on hosting a Jam Session and 'reunion' for any performers and others who are able to attend. Camping is still available.
If you want other information, contact one of the board members (or leave a message here and we will get back to you).
We pray that all be back to 'normal' by Sept 2021.

Congratulations to another member of the Modisette family. Mesa Modisette followed in her brother Hayden's footsteps by becoming a recipient of one of this years Nara Visa Cowboy Gathering and Southwest Cowboy Poets Association scholarships. Sorry I was not able to present your certificate in person, however I wanted everyone to know of this accomplishment. Congratulations Mesa!
