Our team has been ministering alongside our partner churches in the Juarez valley. Today is their final day of church visits. Pray for strength, energy and the love of Jesus to flow through each interaction they have.

Our GI Alaska team just landed in Chicago! The past few days we went Salmon fishing and learned how to process them. We then went throughout the neighborhood giving some to the elders of the village and praying for them. Sunday we had both a morning and evening church service then spent the last night with the youth in the gym.
Renee will be picking us up in a bit then the final journey home. We should be back to NMC by 10:30am.

Our team has been extremely busy the past couple days. Thursday night we met in the Lynx gym and Will and Gabe gave their testimony and answered some good questions from the students. We finished our VBS Friday afternoon, had the program where all of the parents and grandparents heard about our week. We went directly from there to the youth building for a gathering with the high school students and Shea and Jama shared their testimony and answered more questions. We then had a bonfire. Such an amazing community of people. The kids love being around our team and we have had some super meaningful conversations.
We are ready to head into Sunday morning services, Haylee will be sharing this morning.
We caught a bunch of Salmon yesterday and we will be going to some of the village elders this afternoon to give them some and pray with them. Tonight will be our last Church service and one more youth gathering afterward.

The days are full here in Noatak. We start a little before 9:00am with breakfast, then our time alone with God and VBS prep. Then lunch and the VBS starts at 2:00. We’re with the young kids until 5:00 then dinner and finish with the Jr. And Sr. High students. In the middle of all of that is time spent with kids of all ages. Last night some of the team needed to cool down so they took a swim in 50 degree water at about 1:30am. That’s about when our days have ended.. tonight’s a bit early (midnight), the team is wiped out and in bed. They are pouring everything they have into these kids.
We’ve also tasted some of the indigenous foods that the Friends Church community has brought to us which was so fun.
Our team has fallen in love with the community of Noatak along with their precious kids. We are being treated very well.
We have 2 more days of VBS along with the Friday night program. Would you take some time to pray for this event please?
- Pray for any child that doesn’t know Christ to be able to understand Him and have the courage to give their life to Him.
- Pray for the team to be Holy Spirit led as they minister to these kids.
- Pray for the community of Noatak, that we would be a blessing to them as they are to us.

We arrived in Noatak Saturday evening. We were able to cancel our bush plane. While in Anchorage we ran into our dear friends Thurston and Hilda. They let us know that Fred and Matthew Walton were boating down the river and going back empty. We were able to catch an amazing 3 hour ride up the river to the village of Noatak. We stopped on the way for some Eskimo Ice Cream and a little walk on the tundra. Yesterday we took part in 2 church services. The Friends church congregation always sings a welcoming song to guests when they come. We thank God for two services filled with the Holy Spirit. We finished the evening at around midnight getting ready for our VBS which begins today. It’s almost 9:00am, we’re about to go out for our TAWG, then VBS starts in 10 min. Be praying for our team as we kick off the first of 5 days of VBS from 2:00-5:00 pm. We will then meet with the Jr. and Sr. High kids from 8:00-10:00 tonight.

Lots of flexibility needed so far on this trip. Short term mission trips are a microcosm of life. Everyone reading this can testify of how the plans they made were not the plans that played out. We start every mission trip at entrance D surrendering our plans to God. He smiles at that. He is in control of our plans before we surrender them but it’s good for us to hear ourselves admit that we’re really not in control of most of our lives.
Our team has spent 2 nights in hotels we didn’t plan on spending in. But we’ve had so many encounters with people, waiting for flights, hotel staff, airline staff and many more.
Our prayer is that we embrace the place God has is in and shine the light of Christ everywhere we go.
Our plans may have changed, but God’s plan for us didn’t so here we go.
We leave ANC in a couple hours and Lord willing, we will be in Noatak early this afternoon.

Alaska airlines was short staffed so our flight didn’t take off. Our plans are delayed 24 hours. Gods plans haven’t changed so we will stick with Him.
This team rolled with everything thrown at them with great attitudes.
All is well, we will just work on our VBS prep here instead of there.

Our team of 9 is on its way to Noatak Alaska. We will be coming alongside our brothers and sisters at the Friends Church. We will be with them for 10 day, sharing in both Sunday services and 5 days of Bible school. We thank God for this opportunity and look forward to a great time of fellowship.
