Lily Creek Farms

Lily Creek Farms LCF is a 501c3 nonprofit that uses equine-assisted activities to heal mind body and spirit.

We have a professional team providing growth and learning opportunities through the use of equine-assisted therapy to improve the quality of our student’s lives. For children and adults with disabilities, the equestrian experience is life changing. No other therapeutic recreational opportunity benefits so many aspects of a disability in such a holistic way. Imagine the sense of confidence and inde

pendence a rider who uses a wheelchair feels on a horse. Think of a student's muscles growing stronger as he brushes his horse. Watch the emotional connection a rider develops with her horse, instructor, volunteers and fellow students. We have seen firsthand how working with a 1,100 pound animal and gaining its trust, increases a child or adults self-confidence, self-respect, and sense of responsibility. The farm is a place where riders of all ages benefit physically, cognitively and emotionally from a wide variety of horse experiences tailored to their needs by our horses, instructors and volunteers. At Lily Creek Farms, these kinds of "Little Victories" happen every day. The joy of watching one of our students that has Cerebral Palsy, smile and point at his leg and say to us…”LOOK, LOOK, at my leg” as his leg stretches out to its proper length as he sits in the saddle and rides. Or watching Joey, one of our Down Syndrome students who came to us with no attention span and very limited vocabulary, in only 3 weeks tell the horse to go and help tie a saddle and listen to every word our instructors tell him while he is sitting so tall and proud in the saddle! These moments are beyond words and remind us again that our philosophy is true…the greatest of these IS love!

🦅 PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE — $5,000 TO Lily Creek Farms🦅

This is what giving back looks like. ❤️

FOE 4428 is incredibly proud to present Lily Creek Farms with a $5,000 donation to help support the wonderful work they do and the lives they touch.

Lily Creek Farms is a special place where abilities are celebrated, friendships are formed, confidence grows, and everyone has the opportunity to experience a sense of purpose and belonging.

Seeing firsthand the love behind this organization makes us even more grateful that FOE 4428 is able to help.

And when we say FOE 4428 donated $5,000, what we really mean is YOU did. 🫶

Our members, volunteers, guests, and everyone who supports our social room, events, and activities make donations like this possible. The dollars raised inside our Eagles come right back out to help people and organizations in our community.

$5,000 is more than a check. It’s an investment in people. It’s an investment in our community. And it’s a reminder of what we can accomplish when we work together.

Thank you, Lily Creek Farms, for opening your doors — and your hearts — to so many. We are honored to support your mission. 💜

As many in our world mourn Dolly Parton’s departure from this earth, something remarkable is happening.

Beyond celebrating the songs, movies, business empire, hair, rhinestones, jokes, and incredible talent, we are celebrating her goodness.

Her kindness. Her generosity. Her warmth. The way she made people feel.

Dolly put hundreds of millions of books into children’s hands through the Imagination Library. She helped families rebuild after devastating wildfires. She funded medical research. She supported hospitals, scholarships, communities, and people who needed someone in their corner.

Her philosophy was wonderfully simple: See a need. Fill a need.

That may be the least complicated philanthropic strategy ever devised. But Dolly made it sparkle (and scalable, and sustainable for every one of us)!

She also understood something really important about legacy.

While achievements get counted for a time, goodness endures forever.

Dolly’s advice was perfectly practical and wonderfully human-sized: change your own little world and let the good reach outward.

That is available to every one of us.

Start where you are. Use what you have. Take the next right step.

God always provides❤️… just when we need it most. Thank you Power in the Purse! It was a pleasure and a privilege to give you a tour. Please come visit again soon!

Members of the women’s giving circle Power in the Purse (PIP) recently toured second-quarter grant winner Lily Creek Farms and presented them with a $6,100 check. Everyone visited their retail store, Mahnke Orchard, cider-making facilities, and, of course, met the horses and other animals.

Lily Creek Farms is a nonprofit that provides equine-assisted and farm-related activities that help clients heal their minds, bodies, and spirits. Williams County accounts for about 40% of Lily Creek Farms’ participants, who are charged only a $40 fee. The PIP funds will help offset the $200 actual cost for those partaking in the various therapies.

Pictured left to right during the check presentation are Lily Creek Farms Executive Director Jami Young, Mustang/Percheron Dyani, PIP members Judy Kaufmann, Cheryl Andres, Jo Ann Luce, Deb Opdycke, and Helene Moog.

🐴 Calling our horse community! We need your help finding the right person!

Lily Creek Farms continues to grow, and with more than 100 clients coming through our programs each week, we're ready to add another part-time Therapeutic Riding Instructor to our team. 💚

Our greatest need is Friday afternoons and evenings, with additional weekday hours available.

We're looking for someone with a strong equine background who is experienced and confident handling and riding horses. Therapeutic riding experience is wonderful, but it isn't required for the right person. We're looking for solid horsemanship, a heart for people, dependability, patience, and a willingness to learn.

This is an opportunity to take years of horse experience and use it for something incredibly meaningful! To help people build confidence, independence, strength and skills through horses.

📧 Interested? Send a brief email telling us about yourself and your equine experience to [email protected].

And please SHARE this post with your horse friends! The right person may not be looking for a job at all, they may simply need someone to show them this opportunity. 🐴💚
