Where the Lodge Truly Begins
by Ron C. Nischwitz Sr.
9-19-26

The Masonic Lodge is not defined by timber...
stone...
or geography...
It is not merely a room you enter...
or a chair you occupy...
It is born the moment two free minds meet upon the Level...
with respect between them...
even if miles...
borders...
or oceans lie in between...
Wherever respect is present...
wherever differences are honored...
wherever one human being recognizes another as a fellow traveler...
in the Great Architect’s design...
there...
the lodge quietly opens...
Freemasonry teaches that true building is not the raising of walls...
but the raising of character...
It happens in conversation...
in compassion...
in the willingness to listen...
in the courage to understand...
Every faith teaches this same truth...
that sacred fellowship is not confined to temples...
shrines...
or sanctuaries...
It appears wherever hearts meet with dignity...
humility...
and goodwill...
So the Lodge is not a place...
It is a moment...
A meeting...
A recognition...
And wherever respect for difference exists...
the Work begins...
and true building takes place.

Flexibility And Fidelity
by Ron C. Nischwitz Sr.
9-8-26

Adaptability can look like strength...
You shift with ease...
adjust to the moment...
blend into whatever space you enter...
Nothing stiff...
Nothing immovable...
And at first...
it seems like mastery...
a smooth passage through every situation...
no friction...
no conflict...
But slowly...
something begins to fade...
Your outline softens...
Your principles bend...
Your standards drift depending on where you stand...
who surrounds you...
and what they expect...
That is the hidden danger...
You become so skilled at adjusting that you forget to hold anything firm...
No inner anchor...
No fixed point...
No center from which to measure the world...
Just constant motion...
In the Craft...
flexibility has value...
but never at the expense of the Center Point that defines a Mason’s character...
A Mason may adapt to circumstance...
but he does not surrender his Plumb...
He may move with grace...
but he does not abandon the Square...
He may navigate changing environments...
but he remains faithful to the Compasses that set the boundaries of his conduct...
True strength is not endless flexibility...
True strength is knowing virtues must never bend.
