A year ago, I started this project inspired by a story that never left me.
When Tia passed, I brought that memory back to life and built something in her honor.
From the moment I found out she had passed, I kept repeating the same promise to myself:
“I will make something beautiful from this tragedy. She will live on.”
That promise carried me through the grief, the doubt, the exhaustion, and the moments when I wasn’t sure I could keep going.
Everything I built came from that place. Not for recognition. Not for praise. But because I refused to let her memory end with heartbreak. I wanted it to become something that brought hope, confidence, and kindness to others.
Throughout the entire process, it felt like her spirit was right beside me, encouraging me every step of the way.
There were so many moments when I questioned myself.
Would this even work? Would anyone care? Was I making a fool of myself?
But I kept going.
What started as a simple idea quickly grew beyond anything I could have imagined. Through grief, personal hardships, and countless hours of work, I poured my heart into creating something meaningful for students and women in our community.
Along the way, I accepted help.
Unfortunately, that trust ultimately resulted in me being taken out of control of the very project I created.
Items that belonged to me personally, as well as materials I originally created to establish the project, were removed from the original location in January, and have not been returned.
Documents and social media posts, I created continue to be used without my authorization, and dresses are no longer in my possession.
What hurts the most is not the loss of things.
It’s watching a tribute that was created from love, loss, and purpose become completely separated from its original meaning.
For weeks, I’ve tried to look at this situation from every angle.
I’ve tried to focus on the positive—that something so meaningful was built and touched so many lives.
But that doesn’t change the reality of what has happened.
This project was about honoring Tia’s memory, and helping others.
For now, things are on hold while I focus the next steps.
Thank you to everyone who supported this project, donated, volunteered, shared kind words❣️❣️❣️, and believed in the vision from the beginning.
Your support meant more than you know.
No matter what happens next, the heart behind this project can never be taken away or altered in any way, shape, or form.
“It is the quiet truth that I did not lose you, I carry you.
And everything I create, everything I give, everything I build in your honor, is how I keep you alive in this world.”
