Alliance Française de Naples, Florida

The Alliance Française in the United States is part of the century-old, worldwide network that was established at the Alliance Française de Paris in 1883.

We are dedicated to promoting the French language, literature, history and culture and to encouraging French-American cultural exchange & friendship in Southwest Florida. The first chapter in the United States was established in 1888, and today there are 150 chapters in 45 states which serve over 35,000 members. The Alliance Française de Naples receives no government subsidies and has no political

affiliation. It operates solely on the basis of annual membership dues and the generosity of its benefactors. Its programs are open to all interested persons. Our chapter has an active membership composed of francophiles and francophones. There is no requirement of a knowledge level of the French language. The Alliance Française de Naples, Florida, has over 75 members who are encouraged to participate in the organization’s various activities held throughout the year.

On the evening of Saturday, June 6, 2026, fourteen (14) members and guests enjoyed Chef James’ delicious cuisine at Cote d’Azur in North Naples at La Table Française, at which we shared lively conversation en français and en anglais. We welcomed our new Business Partner, Martin Davant, of Evans Roofing of Southwest Florida.
It was a very successful, outgoing, and pleasant time together … hopefully we will meet with more members at next month’s event.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the Assemblée Générale/Annual Business Meeting was held at Café Normandie in North Naples, preceded by dinner consisting of delicious French dishes especially prepared by Chef Anthony. Denyse Jenkins was re-elected President. Alexandra Tomodan was elected to the Board of Directors.

For our 32nd annual Défilé de Mode et Déjeuner (Fashion Show/Fund Raiser), thirty (30) members and guests were treated to a delicious French lunch & dessert at Imperial Golf Club in North Naples, for which we thank Benefactor Mary Burchell for hosting us. Seven members modeled the beautiful fashions of Dillard’s Department Store Naples, with dynamic commentary provided by Asst. Store Manager Morgan Brooks. Many thanks to Gen. Store Manager Josue Rios for the generosity of Dillard’s, and for the beautiful gift basket won by Beth Hall.

32nd Annual Déjeuner et Défilé de Mode (Fashion Show & Fund Raiser) will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Imperial Golf Club, which is located at 1808 Imperial Golf Course Blvd., Naples, FL 34110. Fashions will be presented by Dillard’s Department Store of Naples.

The cost is $50.00 per member and $55.00 per non-member (includes tax and gratuity). This price includes a specially selected luncheon menu (visit www.afnaples.org for the menu). A cash bar will be available.

Go to www.afnaples.org, click on 2026-Events in the lower righthand portion of the Home Page, then click on “32nd Annual Fashion Show & Fund Raiser”, print the Reservation Form, and mail the form and check to Alliance Française de Naples, P. We celebrated our annual Fête du Mardi Gras at Pho 80 Restaurant in North Naples. Chef/Owner Quyen treated us to a delicious, seven-course dinner that was served family style. The theme of the event was the 1972 Academy Award winning film, "Cabaret", with everyone dressed in lively costumes. As always, it was a fun soirée.

On January 31, 2026, Marc and Mercy graciously hosted us in their home to watch “Joy House”, a 1964 French mystery–thriller film starring Jane Fonda, Alain Delon … the film was originally titled “Les Félins”, which means “the cats”.

We enjoyed a tray of charcuterie, olives, nuts, fresh fruits, various cheeses with baguettes. The hosts served red, white and rose wines ... with various soft drinks.

Everyone had a good time. We cannot wait to have another Ciné Club evening ... we will let you know the title, time and place.

Bal Masqué du Mardi Gras (Mardi Gras Dance and Dinner) on Friday, February 13, 2026. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. for socializing and cocktails (cash bar), followed by a specially selected 8-course dinner served family style at 5:30 p.m. Music Karaoke style by Mercy Indyk. The theme of the event is "Cabaret”. There will be a costume contest. Authentic New Orleans masks are available to purchase.

Cost: $70.00 per member (tax & gratuity included) and $75.00 per non-member (tax & gratuity included).

On January 10, 2026, we welcomed 26 members and guests at our luncheon at Bistro La Baguette. It was our first Causerie of the year … and three members talked about different topics related to France: (1) Beth Hall shared her experience as a student for three weeks at the prestigious language school Institut de Français in Villefranche sur-Mer, a town on the French Riviera … (2) Mercy Indyk talked about how to choose a French “fromage”, to display on a charcuterie board … and (3) Olena Gryshchenkova spoke about Apt, a little town in Provence and how people live there, also about market days. We thank them all for their dedication and help to our members.

31 members and guests celebrated our annual Dîner de Noël at Chez Guy Parisian Bistro, where we were treated to a delicious 3-course meal exclusively offered by Chef Guy. We had a lively time with our Gift Exchange and caroling Christmas songs in French. It was a memorable evening of reminiscence and “bonheur”.
