The Kiwanis Club of Naples sure was busy this week serving the kids of Collier County. Members David and Kathy Carpenter awarded Terrific Kids certificates at Avalon Elementary and David Green, Supervisor of Elections Melissa Blazier, Jeri Goetz, Jennifer Morgan, Steve McCann and many others put in some serious volunteer hours at the US Open Pickleball Championships where hours turn into dollars that go towards improving the lives of children. Way to go team!

Ulrike Nordby, a volunteer recruiter with the Florida Guardian Ad Litem Office, spoke to our members recently about its efforts to represent foster children throughout the area. Ulrike and other guardians represent more than 35,000 neglected and abused children under the jurisdiction of Florida's juvenile dependency courts every year. These guardians serve as a constant, caring advocate in these children's lives. They do wonderful work and we're thankful for the positive impacts they have on these vulnerable children.

Thank you to our inspiring guest speaker this week!

We were honored to welcome Karen Rudina from the Alzheimer's Support Network at our recent Kiwanis Club of Naples meeting. Karen shared valuable insights on supporting families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. Her passion for enriching lives and providing practical resources in our Naples community was truly moving and left everyone with a deeper understanding of how we can all make a difference.

A big thank you to Karen for taking the time to join us and for the important work the Alzheimer's Support Network does right here in Collier County!

We were excited to induct new member Janis Felmeister!

Together, we're building a stronger, more caring community — one service project and one meaningful conversation at a time.

7th and 8th graders from First Baptist Academy Middle School stringed orchestra performed for Kiwanis members during our most recent meeting. They played several songs from modern pop culture. These young musicians played brilliantly. We were thrilled to have them. If you're interested in supporting the kids of Collier County, consider joining us each Wednesday from noon to 1 pm at South Street Oven Bar and Grill on the corner of Pine Ridge and Goodlette. See you there!

What an inspiring lunchtime today at Kiwanis! We were thrilled to welcome Aliyah Walker, Environmental Specialist at Collier County Pollution Control, as our guest speaker.

Aliyah shared valuable insights on local efforts to protect our waterways, reduce pollution, and preserve the beautiful environment that makes Naples such a special place to live and visit. Her passion for conservation and the practical steps our community can take to support cleaner stormwater practices truly resonated with everyone. Thank you, Aliyah, for educating us and reminding us how each of us can make a difference!

Kiwanis Club of Naples is proud to bring speakers who inform, inspire, and help build a better community—one meeting at a time. Serving the children and future of Collier County since 1952!

Lithium batteries have become a big part of our everyday lives but they can pose serious risks. They are found in everything from cell phones to laptops to electric scooters. If you'd like to learn how you can support the kids of Collier County, join us each Wednesday from noon to 1 pm at the South Street Oven Bar & Grill on the corner of Pine Ridge and Goodlette in Naples.
