Habitat for Humanity of Collier County

Habitat for Humanity of Collier County Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

The ultimate goal of Habitat for Humanity is to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the face of the earth by building adequate and basic housing. Furthermore, all of our words and actions are for the ultimate purpose of putting shelter on the hearts and minds of people in such a powerful way that poverty housing and homelessness become socially, politically and religiously unacceptable in our nations and world.

Some of the best surprises come with a front door and a set of keys. 🔑🚪

Gloria was one of more than a dozen Habitat families to close on their new homes recently, but she had one more surprise up her sleeve. Her daughter had no idea they were about to become homeowners until they arrived at their new home to sign the closing papers!

From there, it was all smiles and giggles! Gloria's parents even flew in to celebrate, making it a special day for three generations of family and the very first of many happy memories in their new home.

We may build the homes, but it's the families who fill them with love, laughter and memories. And for Gloria and her family, that's already begun.

How’s this for some Friday feels? 💙

This week, the first families in Las Palmas officially closed on their homes and began a new chapter as homeowners!

And there’s something special about this point in every new community we build. The work isn’t finished. There are still homes going up, volunteers arriving and plenty of construction ahead. But once the first families move in, something shifts.

A job site starts becoming a neighborhood.

Lights come on and families settle in.

A community begins to come alive.

And these first homeowners won’t be without neighbors for long! More families are preparing to close on their homes in the coming weeks. Stay tuned. Las Palmas is just getting started.

Community shows up for community. đź’™

A big thank you to Physicians Regional Healthcare System and FC Naples for coming together at Las Palmas to build alongside us in support of one of their own.

There’s something special about seeing coworkers, community partners and neighbors roll up their sleeves for a local family. This is what partnership looks like, and we’re grateful to have both organizations building with us.

Habitat for Humanity is constructing the Las Palmas community in Collier County, adding 210 affordable homes to help families live closer to their jobs.

He doesn’t know it yet, but this is the beginning of a whole new chapter.

This little guy joined his parents at a recent new homeowner orientation: the first step families take after learning their applications have been approved.

To him, it was probably just another day with Mom and Dad. But they were taking a big step toward a home where he can grow up, put down roots and fill the years ahead with memories of his own. That’s a pretty big day, even if you’re still a little too young to know it.

A well-deserved honor! We’re proud to see our CEO, Lisa Lefkow, recognized among this year’s IMPACT 50. 💙

“Our work has always been about building pathways to affordable homeownership through the strength of community partnership. This partnership with The Immokalee Foundation gave us an opportunity to reach beyond our traditional program and help another local family find a path home. That’s what can happen when a community comes together around a shared purpose.”

The Immokalee Foundation's Career Pathways Learning Lab was created to give Foundation students something few high school students ever experience: the opportunity to learn …
