Happy Friday All! We wanted to share a quick heads up about a wonderful community event happening this weekend--

The Naples Community 5k
Sunday, August 9 @7:30am
Registration is $25 now, $30 day of the race.

The extra awesome thing about this race is that all proceeds will support a high school senior scholarship in honor of the late Jennifer Keneally. Jen was a dedicated community leader, passionate about creating family-friendly events and promoting outdoor recreation. This is a wonderful way to honor her memory and carry her kindness and compassion forward.

If you love running/walking, sign up today! And even if that's not your jam, head on down on Sunday morning to cheer everyone on! It's a great way to kick off the day and a wonderful way to spread some joy.

The Naples Community 5K is on Sunday August 9, 2026.

Hey Songo Locks School & Crooked River Elementary School families! We hope that you're all having a magnificent Summer! Just a heads up as we dive into August on some key dates for the start of the 26/27 School Year.

-- Please see image for the 2026/2027 School Calendar (Save, Print, & Post!!)
-- Pre-K/K Orientation is scheduled for August 28. Families should have received (or should soon receive) information about scheduling, bus pickups, etc.
-- The first THREE days of school for K-5 are Wed/Thurs/Fri, 9/2-4. Please note that there IS school on Friday of that first week this year.
-- First day of Pre-K is Friday, 9/4.
-- School will be closed on Monday, 9/7 in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

We'll have more news soon on supply lists, open houses, and more -- so keep your eyes here and if you know of families just joining our community, please send them our way!
