This young red-tailed hawk was rescued after being found on the ground. Its nest was blown and destroyed by a storm. This is also the first young red-tailed hawk we have admitted since 2024.

Once medically cleared by our vet, we were able to renest the animal using a basket and reunite the family. Please call 239-262-2273 for wildlife assistance.

In its most recent season from November 2025 to April 2026, the Conservancy removed 177 invasive pythons weighing a combined 8,080 pounds from a 200-square-mile area of Southwest Florida, setting a new record for the team, which began its tracking and removal program in 2013.

This year’s average female weighed 95 pounds and carried an average of 70 eggs. But the largest weighed an astonishing 153 pounds and was 17 feet long.

Three peas in a pod… or in this case, 3 nestling mockingbirds on a branch. 🪾

You may think that these 3 birds are siblings, but each of them came in on different days for different reasons. Once stable, our wildlife rehab staff put them together in an incubator to rest and enjoy each other’s company. Many of our hospital’s songbird species are combined if possible so they can help teach one another to eat, fly, and ultimately grow up before being released back into the wild.

We need your help! During this time of the year, we are admitting over 100 baby animals a week. We have many ways you can support our hospital by using this link: https://conservancy.org/babyshower/
