Remember there is still time to win a one week vacation by Emailing your unique pandemic story to [email protected] before the June Equinox in memory of Alyce Nash’s birthday! Selected stories will be published in my upcoming book in hopes of reuniting our country by allowing one another to learn there are so many unique factors that make us individuals yet working together in our communities and across our country is what makes us great. I had emailed my idea and requested my sorority sister Megan Markle and husband Harry to share their unique stories before their big Oprah interview and suggested they could help make a documentary, which i had started putting together to promote this mission. My focus was to benefit HomeBase.org which provides free counseling for military members and their families but each unique story does not have to be crisis mode of mental health needs. We all know what it feels like to be isolated now at some level, and this pandemic has created a myriad of challenges from the need to learn or teach online, homeschool, remote work, lost jobs, lost homes, hunger...but not everyone going through challenges needs counseling or medication. Sharing your story not only helps you feel better but it could help save the lives of others who need to know how you dealt with various issues...or just knowing someone else experienced a similar issue can make someone feel connected and therefore reduce anxiety. My first job after my undergrad majoring in was to work as an office manage for and i helped organize a conference on Cape Cod w and to raise awareness for su***de prevention. The act of Planning a vacation, actually taking a vacation, sharing your truth, feeling connected to a group, serving a purpose greater than yourself...these are ALL proven techniques to reducing anxiety and depression and suicidal ideation and all incorporated in my offer to win a one week vacation by sharing YOUR story. Im glad for Megan and Harry and that they shared their story with the world and asked people around the world to share their stories, but my focus currently is just for people inside the US and entries must be in English. Artwork is acceptable buy art must reflect joy. I hope you win!!
