Its been a long time since I've done a training update! Speranza has definitely been a tough horse, she is very shy and often lets her fear get the best of her, but she is slowly starting to come around.
Here one of my students is asking Speranza to approach/step up for the first time ever. The horse is calm and relaxed and my student is as well! She is creating/releasing pressure at the appropriate times and you can see the horse responding.
This horse has definitely taught me alot! I have had to completely change my training program with her and have really had to learn how to think outside the box with her. I have had to ask for help from other trainers for help! I'm not gonna lie, there have definitely been times where I have felt discouraged.
But this mare constantly reminds me of something really important. You cannot put a timeline on training or healing. And that is what we are working with here in both situations.
But this isn't about me, this is about my women learning how to overcome their own insecurities, to find their own courage from within and to believe in themselves! To believe that they have a PURPOSE in life, that they can make a difference and CHANGE someone else's life, in this case, the horse.
My women have come so far with this horse and I am SO PROUD of them! To take a wild, untouched mustang, and to bring her to this point in her training is no easy feat! Yes, we still have a long way to go, but I know they can do it! ❤
