Northside Naples Kiwanis Club Awards Scholarships to Outstanding Key Club Members

On Thursday, May 15, the Northside Naples Kiwanis Club gathered to celebrate and honor some of Collier County’s most exceptional student leaders. Scholarships were awarded to graduating seniors who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to servant leadership through their involvement in Key Club and broader community service.

TERRIFIC KIDS AT NORTHSIDE NAPLES KIWANIS CLUB

Once a month, led by Dr. Mark Singer and assisted by Glenn Trout (aka Tony the Tiger), at our Thursday morning breakfast meeting at 7:15 AM, we celebrate two Laurel Oak Elementary School students for their TERRIFIC qualities with a special presentation in front of their families and teachers.

Following a delicious breakfast provided by Skillets, each student receives a certificate, a TERRIFIC Kids pencil case with pencils, free ice cream tokens sponsored by Culver’s, and free pancakes sponsored by Perkins. They are also presented with TERRIFIC Kids T-shirts, which they proudly wear the following morning on the school TV news channel.

In appreciation, their teachers receive a breakfast gift card sponsored by Perkins, while parents are given a TERRIFIC Kids bumper sticker. To top it all off, a big box of cookies is sent back to the students' classroom to be shared with their classmates.

The following day at Golden Terrace Elementary School, our Club President, Susan Agnelli, assisted by Cindy O’Hare, was in action. This presentation was part of a larger school awards ceremony, where the TERRIFIC Kids students received certificates, TERRIFIC Kids T-shirts, and bags full of goodies.

Northside Naples Kiwanis Club is at Immokalee Community Park for its signature family day event - The Feast of the Three Kings aka Christmas in Immokalee. Over 1500 attending. This event reaches out to families in the migrant community. This year we were able to provide Toys, age appropriate reading books, a carnival where children could win/earn tickets and win soft toys donated from the Everblades Christmas bear toss. Depending on the number of tickets they handed in, the bigger the prize.

Christmas in July of Collier county provided over 600 blankets as the weather is set to take a turn for the colder. Meals of Hope provided free groceries.
We distributed over 1000 hot dogs, a mountain of popcorn, cotton candy and Snow Cones.
We’re are so grateful to all of who donated to make this the great event it is, especially our main aponsor for the event Arthrex.

🔔 Northside Naples Kiwanis Club Rings the Bells for the Salvation Army! 🔔🎄

This past Saturday, our Northside Naples Kiwanis Club continued a cherished tradition of more than 25 years—ringing the bells for the Salvation Army at Walmart on SR41 and Immokalee Road.

It was a joyful day filled with smiles, holiday cheer, and the sound of generosity as we greeted our community and helped support this vital organization. Your donations make a difference in providing hope and assistance to those in need right here in our community.

Thank you to all who stopped by to say hello and to those who contributed so generously. Together, we are making a real impact this holiday season!

THANKSGIVING BASKETS:
A HEARTWARMING NORTHSIDE NAPLES KIWANIS TRADITION

This past Saturday, November 23rd, marked another successful chapter in a long-standing Thanksgiving tradition of the Northside Naples Kiwanis Club. Together with our sponsored Key Clubs from Aubrey Rogers, Palmetto Ridge, Gulf Coast, and Barron Collier High Schools, we gathered at Target in Tarpon Bay Plaza to spread the spirit of gratitude and giving.

Our mission? To bring Thanksgiving joy to 11 Habitat for Humanity families. Teams of Kiwanians and Key Clubbers were given $150 each, along with the specific details of a family they were shopping for. The family composition was shared to ensure appropriate and thoughtful shopping.

This event is not only about giving; it’s also a wonderful learning opportunity for our Key Clubbers. They practiced budgeting, decision-making, and teamwork—all while bridging the generational gap by working closely with Kiwanians. Each team carefully selected items to create a special Thanksgiving meal and then delivered the baskets directly to the families' homes, experiencing the true joy and satisfaction of giving.
We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Target, which generously provided each family with a $25 gift card, adding an extra touch of kindness to their holiday.

And a special moment reminded us all of how contagious the Thanksgiving spirit can be. While at Target, one of our members, past International President Case Van Kleef - who, at 92 years young, has been a Kiwanian serving the children of the world for over 60 years - was approached by a curious customer. Seeing all the energy and enthusiasm of our Key Clubbers, the man asked what was going on. Case shared our story, and when his team reached the checkout, this kind person was waiting there - to pay for their Thanksgiving basket in full. A beautiful act of generosity that captured the true meaning of Thanksgiving.

These moments of connection, generosity, and kindness inspire us and remind us of what Thanksgiving is truly about: sharing love and gratitude with others.

We look forward to carrying this spirit into this week’s Farm City BBQ (Wednesday 27th) at the Collier County Fairgrounds, where our Club members and Key Clubbers will once again be out in full force, volunteering and spreading good cheer.

Wishing everyone a joyful and meaningful Thanksgiving season!
