Naperville Sunrise Rotary

It’s been a busy few months at Naperville Sunrise Rotary! ☀️

Each Friday morning at 7 a.m., our members gather at Naperville Country Club to connect, learn, and stay engaged with the people and organizations making a difference in our community and beyond. (And enjoy a tasty breakfast!)

Recent meetings have featured:
🔹 Rotary Ride orientation and event prep
🔹 People's Resource Center
🔹 The Conservation Foundation
🔹 Naperville Community Television (NCTV17)
🔹 Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce
🔹 Rotary District 6450 Governor Mary Dankowski

We also had the pleasure of inducting Kevin Peterson into our club! We’re always excited to welcome new people who want to connect, serve, and make a difference.

These conversations help us stay in tune with the needs in our community, learn about available resources, discover where we can make a difference, hear what’s happening across Rotary, and continue putting on great events that benefit our community and the world.

Interested in finding out more about Naperville Sunrise Rotary? Email [email protected] to ask about attending a Friday meeting or volunteering at one of our upcoming events.

We’d love to have you join us! ☀️

Naperville Sunrise Rotary seeks Grant Applications Supporting Programs for Youth and Young Adults

The Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise is currently seeking requests for funding for programs and services that support the Naperville community's youth and families, teens and young adults. The Club is accepting grant applications for consideration as it selects funding recipients for FY 2026-27.
The Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise holds one or more major fundraising events throughout the year, including the annual St. Patty’s Day 5K and Rotary Ride. In addition, additional funds and ancillary fundraisers may be available through one or more of our four avenues of service committees, including Community; International; Vocational; and Youth Services.
Sunrise Rotary Grants do NOT fund general operating or capital requests. Repeat applications must demonstrate innovation or growth over previous requests. An application form is online at www.napervillesunrise.com. Complete applications must be received by 5 pm. Friday October 23rd for consideration. Complete instructions appear on the website.
“Our club is dedicated to providing support to local organizations that help young people survive and thrive to become the kind of young adults who will lead our community in the future,” says Community Service Chair Deb Newman. “ We want to support programs that make a difference in the lives of youth and families. Naperville Sunrise Rotary is dedicated to the idea that our future depends on our consciously nurturing the potential of future leaders and their families today.”
Funding requests are reviewed according to the following criteria: • The potential of the organization or project to be funded to make a contribution toward improving the quality of life of youth, teens and /or young adults which is in alignment with the Rotary Club’s mission and avenues of service. • The adequacy of plans for measuring success, outcomes and benefits of the funded organization or program to those served. • The demonstrated stability of the requesting organization through consistent and effective management, strong board engagement, a broad base of community and volunteer support and financial responsibility. • The ability of the requesting organization to support the Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise events through promotion/marketing and day-of event volunteer support. All selected beneficiaries will be required to report back to the Club on the results of the funding. Grants will be announced by Mid-November 2026 with funds dispersed between January and May 2026. Recipients of funds raised from the 2026 Rotary Ride will receive funds by September 30, 2026.
The Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise meets most Fridays at 7 am for breakfast at Naperville Country Club. Check the website for meeting schedule and location. Guests and prospective members are welcome to join leaders, exchange ideas and take part in action to enrich our community. See how leaders from Naperville and countries, cultures, and occupations around the world are taking action — to enhance health, empower youth, promote peace, and improve their communities. One of the highlights of our Installation Dinner was taking time to recognize and celebrate the incredible people who make our club so special.

Starting with our outstanding and dedicated President Marion Bond Ruthig, who stepped back into the President's role to finish out a second year when we needed it. We also honored members, volunteers, leaders, and supporters whose dedication, service, and commitment have helped strengthen our club and our impact in the community.

🏆 Ron Amato – Rookie of the Year Award

🏆 Dawn Newman – Art Muehlhausen Service Above Self Award

🏆 Shelley Taylor – Rotarian of the Year Award

Congratulations to all of this year's award recipients, and thank you to everyone who contributes their time, talents, and passion to our mission.

We are grateful for each person who helps make our club a place of service, friendship, and positive change. Thank you for all you do!

What a special evening for our club!

We were grateful to celebrate the outstanding leadership of outgoing President Marion Ruthig and officially welcome Ginnie Moore as our 2026–27 Club President at our annual Installation Dinner.

The evening was made even more meaningful as we commemorated our club's 35th anniversary. Through stories, memories, and video presentations, we reflected on three and a half decades of service, fellowship, and impact in our community.

Thank you to everyone who has helped shape our club's legacy over the past 35 years. We're excited to honor that history while looking ahead to another great year of service and connection under Ginnie's leadership!

On Saturday, May 9, Naperville Sunrise Rotarians gathered at for our annual Clean Sweep at St. Patrick's Residence in Naperville. Volunteers spent the morning pulling weeds, pruning, edging beds, spreading mulch, and helping refresh the grounds for the season ahead.

It was a great morning of teamwork, service, and community—and a reminder that many hands really do make light work.

Thank you to everyone who brought tools, energy, and a willingness to pitch in. Extra thanks to those who invited friends and family to join us!
