is a private, no-kill, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has found homes for over 20,000 pets. We provide a temporary, loving home for dogs and cats that no longer have a family of their own. The animals in our shelter have ended up here for a variety of reasons ranging from abandonment, to rescue from an abusive situation, to owner surrender because they no longer can or want to take care of them. Our animals are loving, family pets who are desperately awaiting for their forever home. was founded in 1989 by a group of generous volunteers determined to find homes for animals in need. Over the decades, our objective has remained the same: to place animals into permanent, caring homes and advance the humane treatment of animals through education.

Punky’s favorite kind of day? One spent away from the shelter. 🥹💗 Whether she’s out exploring, soaking up some fresh air, or just enjoying a little extra one-on-one time, these breaks mean so much to her.

For dogs who have been waiting a little longer, special days like this can make such a difference. But as much as Punky loves her adventures, what she really needs is a home of her own. 🏡

She’s still waiting for someone to choose her, and we would love nothing more than for her next big adventure to be leaving the shelter for good. 🐾💕

Sometimes we wish we could see our shelter pets as babies… and with Josie & Hazel, we actually can. 🥹

These 1-year-old bonded girls first came to A.D.O.P.T. as kittens, were adopted together, and later found their way back to us still side by side. 🤍

Josie & Hazel are both super social, sweet, and ready to find their forever home together. 🐾

We seriously don’t understand how Domino has been waiting over 480 days for his forever home. 🥺💙

He is such a sweet, smart boy who has been thriving in foster care and showing just how wonderful he is in a home. He gets along well with other dogs, loves being part of the action, and has so much love to give.

Domino has been ready for his person for a long time… now he just needs someone to finally choose him. 🏡🐾

Punky was once full of excitement, patiently waiting for her turn to be adopted. 💛🐾

But now, 225 days later, she’s still waiting… and wondering when her chance will finally come.

225 days of watching other dogs head home. 225 days of hoping the next person who walks through our doors might be there for her.

Punky has so much love, personality, and excitement for life to share she just needs someone to give her the chance she’s been waiting for. 🥺
