Why I Walk!
by: Kristen Tobin Lizzie Bee

Our family walks to remember our son, Henry Tobin. There are few ways we can honor our late child and the walk has always been an important one for our family. We hold a great value to this gathering because it reminds us of our community of people who understand.

The walk community is a place where people don’t think it odd that you light candles on birthday cakes for children who will never blow them out. They don’t pass judgement for sending cards and loving thoughts to all our versions of where our children are. They don’t fail to honor the subtleties in conversation when wishing our whole family well on the holidays. They don’t look away, but lean in, when painful questioning happens from those who are unable to understand. They know the power of mentioning they saw your child in a symbol or a beautiful moment. They give hugs and firm hands to hold when emotions become overpowering. Simply put, they are there in ways not everyone knows how to be. The SHARE community and those who attend the walk, provide an immeasurable support for which we are always grateful.

Please join us this Saturday, October 11th at the Naperville Grand Pavilion for this year’s annual Share - A Walk to Remember.
