Meet Buck
Buck supports a retired Air Force combat veteran/30-year East Oakland Police Officer who has endured years of severe nightmares. When the nightmares come, Buck gently licks his cheek and snuggles tightly next to him to reassure him that he’s safe.
This Christmas, peace is the greatest gift of all.

A Recipient's Story about receiving a Canine Guardian SD-
Kurt is a retired combat veteran and East Oakland, CA police officer who witnessed more violence and tragedy than anyone should.
Though he made it home, the emotional cost led to a PTSD diagnosis in 2020.
When he reached out to Canine Guardians, he was matched with Buck — a trained service dog who now senses his anxiety, interrupts nightmares, comforts him through flashbacks, and gives him purpose every day.
