Meet Gaia! Gaia is a lively and curious 17-year-old who loves staying active and creative. She practices CrossFit and Jamaican Dancehall, plays in both a band and an orchestra, and has taken singing and instrument lessons since childhood. Music is a big part of her life—she loves going to concerts and listening to her favorite artists while walking her little dog, Luna. Her favorite subjects are science, literature, and English, and she enjoys reading, especially as part of her book club. Gaia describes herself as open-minded and eager to learn from every experience. She’s excited to improve her English, embrace a new culture, and share everyday life with her host family. Gaia has requested to be placed in California

Just watched Emilia's video - she seems like such a sweet girl. Emilia is a great student with beautiful English who is close with her family and enjoys playing tennis and piano.

Host families provide a room (shared with host sibling is fine!) and meals while treating your student like the family member they will soon become. They have their own spending money and insurance plus a desire to live like an American teenager for the school year.

My family has hosted 4 students and loved our experience.

Meet Yusuf from Uzbekistan! Yusuf is an outgoing and adventurous teenager who loves exploring new cultures and making new friends. In his free time, he enjoys playing chess, playing soccer with his friends, learning to cook traditional Uzbek dishes with his family, and reading books on history and politics. According to his parents, Yusuf is "a determined and kind-hearted individual who is always eager to learn and experience new things."

The process to host is simple! Host families can be couples with or without children, single parents, same s*x couples, singles, empty nesters, retirees, etc. You choose your student based on similar interests such as sports, arts, musical, etc. All you are required to provide is a bed 🛏️ for them to sleep in (they can share a room), meals 🥘 when they are at home and family love and guidance! 🏠

“My favorite hobby is probably reading. I spend much time on books because they can give you life lessons or make you see things from another point of view and I like it. I read fantasy, romance, thriller, and horror books. Apart from reading, I like spending my free time skateboarding (although I am still learning), playing guitar, going out with my friends and playing with my two cats. I’m taking up other hobbies such as photography, writing journals, crocheting and editing to fill the time.I like music too, I listen to almost everything but I prefer pop, alternative rock and indie. During the summer I started studying Turkish. I stopped because school was keeping me too busy but I’ll surely continue since I love this language. My favorite sport is dancing. Even though I stopped 2 years ago due to covid, I look forward to starting again because it has always been my safe place and it makes me feel really good.”
