It’s that time of year when our hearts overflow with gratitude for all the blessings we’ve experienced; both this year and throughout our lives.

For everyone who’s been asking—Mesa Jones has pulled through and is thriving! No more colic, and he’s made an incredible comeback with over 125 pounds gained. Our beloved racehorse is back on track!
Mason flourishes in a coastal climate with mild weather, a calm setting, and the support of a knowledgeable handler who truly understands the needs of a track horse. A special thanks to Bobbi for your expert care and dedication.

Today is the Kentucky Derby—a day to celebrate the heart and spirit of Thoroughbreds. At Amadon Hills, we care for one very special retired racehorse named Mesa Jones aka Mason. Due to a serious injury and ongoing medical complications, Mason's s days on the track are behind him—but his journey is far from over.

Spring has most definitely sprung- and so have we at Amadon Hills! With the sun shining warm and bright, we jumped into action and gave Mason his first bath since joining us. Just look at our beautiful Thoroughbred—what a stunner!

In Loving Memory of Rembrandt

At Amadon Hills, we are honored to care for retired horses, giving them the love and dignity they deserve. I was humbled to be featured on the cover of Spotlight Napa’s February 2025 issue with Remi, a shoot we arranged in December—unbeknownst to me, it would be Rembrandt’s final month with us. In January, he crossed over to graze in God’s herd.

But even from above, Rembrandt continues his work—reminding us all how vital it is to cherish our horse companions, no matter their past. Here on Earth, Mason walks in his hoofprints, urging us to keep rescuing and providing sanctuary for horses in need.

Help Mason Heal – Your Support is Urgently Needed!

This winter has been especially harsh for our beloved Thoroughbred, Mason. He has endured two bouts of colic, with the most recent requiring hospitalization at UC Davis for several days. His lifesaving care has cost Amadon Hills over $10,000—a significant expense for our small nonprofit.
We rely on the generosity of our community to continue providing the best care for Mason and other rescued horses. We urgently need your support to cover these expenses and ensure we’re prepared for future medical needs.
