Urgent Need for Volunteers and Board Members

I trust this letter finds you well. My name is George Mollo, and I am a Director of Nanuet & Beyond, Inc., a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities that enrich the lives of our youth. Since our establishment in late 2017, we have worked tirelessly to support and enhance existing educational programs both within and outside the classroom.

I am reaching out to you today with a pressing matter that requires your immediate attention and support. Over the years, Nanuet & Beyond, Inc. has made significant strides in contributing to the educational development of our youth. We have proudly awarded nearly $14,000 in scholarships, grants, and donations, positively impacting the lives of countless young individuals.

Unfortunately, we find ourselves at a critical juncture. Due to increased work obligations, we have experienced a loss of board members, leaving us in desperate need of dedicated individuals like yourself to join our cause. Our success hinges on the commitment and passion of our board members and volunteers, and your involvement could make a profound difference.

We are actively seeking individuals who share our vision for empowering local youth through education. Your expertise, energy, and commitment can help us not only fill the gaps left by our departing board members but also propel Nanuet & Beyond, Inc. to new heights.

Here are a few ways you can contribute:

Time: Race/Walk starts at 8:30 AM.
Fee: $30 ($20 up to thru age 19)
Location: Start/Finish Nanuet High School Main Entrance

Overview:
The race will begin and end in front of Nanuet High School. The race will start at 8:30 AM. Runners can sign in starting at 7 AM to receive their bib, timing chip, and official completion time.

(Please register in advance so we ensure enough supplies for all runners.)
Registrations before April 15th may also have the option of purchasing a Race tee shirt (net proceeds also go to Nanuet and Beyond).

The race will be categorized by gender and age group. The overall winner in age group/gender will be awarded a Gift certificate. The top 150 runners will receive a medal.

Great attendance at Palisades Center with Nanuet and Beyond, Inc. for the 9th Annual Art & Culture Exhibition in celebration of student artwork! This year's theme was "Uniquely Me."

Over 100 pieces of Student art from the Nanuet Union Free School District grades K-12 were on display at the Palisades Center from March 10-March 24 at 19 different businesses throughout the Palisades Center.

On the final day, all the art was brought to an exhibit area on the Palisade's first-floor atrium (opposite H&M) for an open reception.

Almost all of the 100+ students were on hand with family, guardians, and friends to see the art on display. Snacks and water were available and background music was provided by Bach to Rock, a local Nanuet business providing music lessons to students of all ages. The Nanuet High School Orchestra under the direction of Melanie Sadoff offered a selection of both contemporary and classical music.

Guest speakers included George Hoehmann, Clarkstown Town Supervisor, Kevin McCahill Superintendent of the Nanuet Union Free School District, and Ms. Kodi Todd, Chair of the Nanuet Schools Art Department. One of the student winners was invited to offer comments and encouragement to all the participants. The Town of Clarkstown had provided each participating student with a Certificate of Merit on behalf of Clarkstown recognizing their participation in the event.

Twenty-Nine judges that included artists, sculptors, teachers, administrators, alumni, and community volunteers selected Honorable Mention and First Place winners from each of the 4 schools (George W. Miller Elementary School (grades K-2); Highview Elementary (grades 3-4); A.MacArthur Barr Middle School (grades 5-8) and Nanuet Senior High School. An overall Best in Show was also selected.

George Mollo, President of Nanuet and Beyond, Inc. offered a brief overview of Nanuet and Beyond and noted the individuals, businesses, Palisades Center (especially Ms. Keri Cunningham, Marketing Director), Nanuet Union Free School District, Nanuet Art teachers, Nanuet Superintendent, Clarkstown Supervisor, Nanuet Chamber of Commerce, Nanuet Junior Chamber of Commerce and the volunteer Board of Nanuet and Beyond for working together to make this event a success.

On a personal note, Mr. Mollo said: "Each year I am impressed with the talent of our students which improves year over year. This year’s art exhibition was no exception. I was especially impressed with each student’s interpretation of this year’s “Uniquely Me” theme. Once again our appreciation to the Nanuet School art teachers and most importantly the student artists as well."

Mr. Mollo then presented "Certificates of Best Artist" and gift card awards to the Honorable Mention and First Place winners as well as Best in Show.

Nanuet and Beyond 9th Annual Student Art Exhibition with art from K-12 Nanuet School students being delivered to 20 locations throughout the Palisades Center by Art Teachers and student volunteers.
The art will be on display from March 10-24th. On March 24th all the art will be brought together to the first level (near H&M) for a full display and reception from 5-7 PM. Award presentations will start at 6:15 PM.
Thank you to the Palisades Center and Keri Cunningham, Marketing Director for their partnership with this event. A map of locations is included.
Open to the public.

Nanuet and Beyond, Inc. is again pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for a $1,500 grant to 2023 graduating senior in good standing who resides in the Nanuet or Clarkstown school districts.

The grant is designed for students with financial needs to assist with higher education costs (e.g., college, trade school, etc.)
