The Club held its first weekly meeting of 2026 at the Salt Marsh Center this afternoon. Our guest speaker, Harbormaster Sheila Lucey gave us an impressive overview of the operations and responsibilities of the Marine Department.

Today we welcomed Emily Molden, Executive Director of the Nantucket Land and Water Council. Emily gave the Club an overview of the councils efforts and advocacy for protecting the natural landscape and water resources on the Island. We also learned that in high school, Emily had been the recipient of a Rotary Leadership Award!

We want to thank everyone who attended our Annual Meeting today where the Nantucket Little League was awarded the "Heartbeat of Nantucket Award" and a $10,000 donation for travel and expenses.

Roque Miramontes, Health and Human Services Director for the Town of Nantucket joined us at our July 23rd meeting. He gave us an informative overview of his departments responsibilities in promoting the health and well being of all Nantucketers and visitors.

At this week's meeting Kristie Ferrantella, Housing Director for the Town of Nantucket (and Rotarian!) spoke to the club about new program's and initiatives to address the need for workforce and attainable housing in our community. At todays luncheon, Leah Hill, Coastal Resilience Coordinator for the Town of Nantucket gave the club a presentation on the key recommendations to be executed over the coming decade to mitigate the risks associated with flooding and erosion.
