Second graders in Mrs. Sharer's class got to have a guest speaker visit them yesterday.

Carter, a baseball player at NNU came and spoke to them about what it means to "hit it out of the park" both in baseball and in life. He had 8 home runs his junior year of college and spoke about doing hard things and pursuing excellence outside of sports.

Students knew he was coming, so Ryker specifically wore his baseball jersey!

Thursday's are the perfect day to wear your Cougar shirts to show your school spirit. It is so fun to see students and staff all decked out in their matching school gear.

Our first student of the week is 4th grader, Boone. He showed compassion to a peer who was playing alone and invited them to join a football game.

We had a wonderful first day with our Kindergarten yesterday.

In an additional effort to keep our youngest kids safe, we have an adjustment to end of day pickup.

If you are picking up a Kindergartener, please pull to the INSIDE of the bus loop. This will allow you to load your Kinder and help them buckle, if needed, before zippering into the main line to get your other students.

Some additional reminders to speed up the drive-thru process:
-Stay to the right, as close to the curb as possible, when waiting on Mason Ln.
-Pull all the way forward.
-Be prepared to say who your student(s) is while we are still matching vehicles to families.
-Do not block entrances.
*Reminder, there is no option to walk up. You will be directed to return to your car and re-join the pickup line.

Today was the first day for Kindergarten and they have been hard at work learning routines, making new friends, and creating memories.

Last week, students in 1st-5th had the option to take a first day of school picture...so many kids opted in!

Exciting News!

We’re proud to share that Central Elementary has been selected to receive $20,459.99 in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) for the 2026–2027 school year! 🍎🥦

Through this program, our students will enjoy:
• More opportunities to try fresh fruits and vegetables
• A greater variety of healthy options
• Support for building lifelong healthy habits
• A healthier school environment

We’re grateful to the Idaho Department of Education’s Child Nutrition Programs for making this possible for our students!

Saying, "Thank you", in a social media post doesn't seem adequate but hopefully it will be sufficient to convey our deepest appreciation to everyone that showed up for us in the last few weeks.

When news broke of the school flooding, we weren't sure how we could ever start school this fall. Today was the first day for us and it was a glowing success thanks to everyone that stepped up to volunteer.

It took an army to set up every classroom and office space in such a short amount of time. We were hoping to have things functional at the very least but were blessed with so much more than that.

There was an enormous amount of support from community members putting up bulletin boards, and providing food, drinks, and snacks. People donating hundreds of books so that we didn't have to go without them. Businesses holding supply drives and a very generous amount of gift cards that were donated for teachers to get all the things that give their classrooms a little personal touch.

Nampa School District leadership, maintenance, facilities, technology staff, and ABM have put in so many hours helping us get everything we need to be successful.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything...

Today is the big day!

First day of school for 1st-5th and thanks to all of the amazing supporters in this community... (more about that later) ...WE ARE READY!

Staff will be outside to greet students as they arrive and direct them straight to the cafeteria for breakfast. We will also make sure students find their way to class.

Remember that doors open at 8:30, breakfast and lunch are free, and dismissal is at 4:03.

Central, Central-Centennial, CentraTennial, Centrennial...No matter what you're calling it these days just know that we are still Central at heart and we can't wait to see you this evening (5:00-7:00) for the Meet-And-Greet!

As we gear up for the first day of school this Wednesday, we wanted to share the traffic pattern for Parent Pick-Up/Drop-Off lane.

In this image you'll see that the purple arrows indicate the route for pick-up/drop-off at the front of the school.

Please stay in your vehicle, and in the car lane at all times.

Pull forward as cars exit to keep the flow smooth.

Have patience with other drivers.

Watch for pedestrians at all times.
