Walk Down Memory Lane 2022
Representing EhCapa in 2022 were Queen Ellie Horsley and Princess Emma Parkinson. The season emphasized rider development, teamwork, and preparation for performances across the West. A new progressive beading program was introduced, allowing riders to complete costume beadwork over several years rather than all at once. Families also enjoyed the Shakedown Campout, jumping clinics, fundraisers, and the traditions that make life on the road so special.
Performances included Sun Valley, Hailey, Eagle Rodeo, Weippe, Treasure Valley Leather Slappers, Friends and Family, and PRCA rodeos in Sterling and Yuma, Colorado. While the back-to-back Colorado trip was remembered for its extreme heat, humidity, and relentless flies, riders pushed through and proudly represented EhCapa. The year ended with a pajama-themed Christmas party and white elephant gift exchange.
In 2023, Queen Elliott Antoniuk, Princess Dani Wilcox, Honored Brave Jayden McFarland, and Mini Princess Sidney Bobo represented the club. Riders continued building their horsemanship and beadwork while traveling farther than ever.
The team performed at the Idaho Horse Expo, Weippe, Othello, Washington, the Western Idaho Fair, Steamboat Springs, Sun Valley, and Mandan Rodeo Days in North Dakota. Mandan became one of the club's most memorable trips, with rain clearing just in time for every performance, ever-changing weather, and an unforgettable Fourth of July fireworks display that surrounded the team with a breathtaking 360-degree view.
Back home, the annual Playday, Friends and Family, and holiday parades in Caldwell and Boise continued long-standing traditions that brought members and the community together.
Whether battling flies in Colorado, watching fireworks in North Dakota, or sharing stories around a campfire, the years 2022 and 2023 proved once again that the greatest part of EhCapa has always been the people. As members often say, the magic truly happens on the road.
