Walk Down Memory Lane: 1996–1998

The late 1990s were years of momentum, pride, and growing recognition for the EhCapa Ba****ck Riders. From rodeo arenas to parade routes across the West, we continued to carry our traditions forward. 🐎✨

In 1996, our riders represented EhCapa at events like the Snake River Stampede, Roseburg performances, and community celebrations throughout the region. Our Royalty Nikki Williams (Queen), Candy Wolf (Princess), Emily Hessing (Mini Princess) and C.J. Sower (Jr Brave) helped lead the way in both horsemanship and team spirit as we proudly carried the EhCapa name wherever we traveled.

By 1997, we were still strong in the arena and in the headlines. Newspaper features highlighted the balance, discipline, and dedication required to ride tack-rein, while our teams performed at Homedale Rodeo and the Snake River Stampede Parade. That year’s royalty, Queen Lily Cushman-Culhane, Princess Annie Clark, Mini Princess Krystal Lake, Honored Brave Kris Boyd, Jr.,and Jr Brave Zach Hessing, represented the club with pride across the region.

In 1998, the tradition continued with riders like Emily Tiegs (Queen), Emily Hessing (Princess), Jimm Nesmith (Honored Brave), Marlerie Boyack (Mini Princess), Caleb Sutherland (Jr Brave) carrying our banner forward. From Simplot performances to Stampede parades and community appearances, our riders remained a familiar and welcome sight wherever horses gathered and crowds lined the streets.

Through these years, one thing never changed: the trust between rider and horse, the strength of our team, and the friendships that made every mile and every performance memorable.

70 years later, those same traditions still ride with us today.

From then to now, our story continues—thanks to our sponsors.

Walk Down Memory Lane: 1994–1995

In 1994, we continued representing EhCapa across the region, from Sun Valley rides to Meridian Winter Parade appearances and rodeo performances that highlighted the balance, discipline, and teamwork our riders trained for all year long. That same season, Crissy Lynch rode as Queen with Heather Esponito as Princess and Nathan Fuhriman as Honored Brave, proudly carrying our traditions forward wherever we traveled.

Our horses were true partners in every mile. Whether performing drill routines, competing in rodeo events, or appearing in community parades, riders demonstrated the confidence and control that comes from years of practice together as a team.

In 1995, our story reached even more communities as EhCapa was recognized in newspapers for developing youth horsemanship skills and leadership across the West. The article highlighted what we already knew, our riders weren’t just learning to perform, they were learning discipline, confidence, and respect for tradition.

That year’s royalty included Queen Heather Esponito, Princess Lilly Cushman-Culhane, Honored Brave Nathan Fuhriman, and our first Jr Brave Ross Boyack, representing EhCapa with pride in arenas, parades, and exhibitions throughout the season. From Horse Expo appearances to McCall parades and rodeo performances, the team continued building friendships, skills, and memories that still ride with us today.

Through every practice, performance, and road trip, these years reminded us that EhCapa has always been about more than riding, it’s about growing together.

Remembering where we’ve been, supported every step of the way.
