In the aftermath of this storm, I'd like to give a shout out to everyone who worked their butts off since Saturday night. Fire Departments, EMS Crews, Dispatchers, Law Enforcement, Hospital Staff, Road Commissions, Power Companies, Towing Companies, community members, and I'm sorry if I missed some, but you know who you are. All of the essential workers and volunteers that helped make our community and neighboring communities get through it.
Special shout out to my crew here at Nahma Township Fire/Rescue. When I made calls looking for help for our community and others, my crew answered the calls and did everything they could to make it happen. No questions asked. It was truly something amazing to see come together. If you see any of my crew out and about make sure to thank them, they deserve it.
We are lucky to have such great support from our community and taxpayers to be able to run our department with the essential tools and equipment we need to do the job. We are grateful.
Most of the roads and homes are now accessible in our area, but there are still a few that are not. So I'd like to mention, if you are having an emergency and need help. Please reach out to our dispatch center or call 911 and we will get to you.
Again check on your family, friends, neighbors, and elderly in the aftermath of the storm. Check your own and remind your neighbors to check vents outside the house to make sure they are clear to prevent Carbon Monoxide issues. The weather looks like its going to warm up now so let's hope spring is going to be right around the corner.
