Friends of the Nacogdoches Public Library The Friends of the Nacogdoches Public Library was organized in 1972.

Its purpose is to build community and promote literacies by supporting access to programming, community spaces, technologies and collections of resources in a variety of formats.

The Friends of the NPL sponsors bookmobile teams that deliver books for residents of nursing homes in Nacogdoches to check out from the Nacogdoches Public Library. Today I am giving a shout out and THANK YOU to these teams! We have 2 teams made up of Friends members who volunteer their time and energy to pull books for patrons at the nursing homes and then deliver them on the first Tuesday or Wednesday of each month. The Tuesday Team members are Carol Nelson Shaw, Jill Milem, Maggie Abernethy, Tere Royal, Rebecca Dillon and Jim Thrall, member emeritus, who recently retired after 20 plus years of delivering books monthly. The Wednesday Team members are Michael Ball, Bob Szafran, Emily Falke and Myra McNellie. Friends of the NPL Board manages three programs that benefit the community and the NPL: Bookmobile, Linda Milford Memorial Book Shop and Little Free Libraries (LFLs). Stay tuned for more info about the LFLs. If you would like to become a member of Friends of the NPL, just go by the circulation desk at the library and someone there will help you join.

Morning Friends.
One good way to become a senior book lady (or gent) is to come purchase books at the Linda Milford Memorial Book Shop at the Nacogdoches Public Library. Always good selection. Always good prices. You can you fill your TBR (to be read) bookshelf, and you can support the NPL. All proceeds from the book shop go directly to support NPL events and programs. Bring your shopping bags and come on down! Thanks to our Friends members, Wanda and Anne, shopping has become easier because they have organized and arranged the book shop merchandise in shopper friendly ways!

Hello Friends. Dinosaur sighting at Nacogdoches Public Library. I wonder how Sarah, desk staff, can be so calm with a T-Rex wanting to check out books! There will be dinosaurs in the library all summer long. Come vote on your favorite dinosaur. And be sure to come to the Super Tuesdays all summer long! Hello Friends.
These are photos from the first week of the NPL's summer reading program. The theme is Unearth a Story......and there are dinosaurs involved. Super Tuesdays are every Tuesday from 10 to 12 at the NPL starting 6/9/26 and ending 8/4/26. For more information go to the NPL page, the NPL website, or call 936-559-2970 to talk with staff about what's happening. There is also a monthly NPL calendar of events email. Hello Friends.
Take some time to read this summer. You can check out books and other items at the Nacogdoches Public Library. You can also buy books for your home bookshelves at the Linda Milford Memorial Book Shop.....hardback books $1.00, paperback books 50 cents, children's books 25 cents. We also have DVDs and books on CD available for sale. Summertime......and the readin' is easy!

Congratulations to Nacogdoches Public Library and Christian Women's Job Corp for receiving $4,000 grants each from Newcomers. These grants were funded from the proceeds of Newcomers annual Bag Lady Bingo.
