We ask that everyone please keep Officer Tutt and his family of the Nacogdoches Police Department in your thoughts and prayers.

Anyone in Nacogdoches will tell you that he is a well-known, respected officer and one of the kindest people you could ever meet. He and his family are truly loved and supported by the entire Nacogdoches Community.

Please continue to lift them up during this time. 💙🙏

We had an amazing time and a truly meaningful opportunity thanks to the Community Improvement Program (CIP) The Burke Center of Nacogdoches, Texas. A special thank you to the incredible teachers, Terrie Mayfield and Michelle Cox, for sponsoring and supporting this event.

As we all know, mental health challenges are on the rise across the United States, and education is more important than ever. You never know when you might be in a position to save a life—or even many.

Omg, I had a blast at the Black History Expo with NAACP, CIP and 21/7 Association hosting! Some Black History facts I knew and some I learned for the first time. I enjoyed getting to communicate with so many people and having just a good ole time. I want to say thank you to all the people that showed their talents, it was well appreciated! Also, thank you to McMichael Middle School, to all the vendors, businesses and nonprofits, to all the guest speakers that gave us knowledge, to SFA Fraternities and student volunteers that made this possible!

Sammy Younge was shot in the face (under the left eye) by Marvin Segrest, a 68-year-old white gas station attendant at a Standard Oil station in Tuskegee, Alabama, on January 3, 1966. The shooting came after a verbal altercation between Younge and the attendant about Younge allegedly attempting to use a "whites-only" bathroom.
Younge became the first black college student to be murdered for his actions in support of the Civil Rights Movement.
