Iota Phi Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, inc.

The "Iconic" Iota Phi Sigma Alumnae Chapter (Nacogdoches, TX) of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was chartered January 15th, 2005. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

was organized on November 12th, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana by 7 young educators. Those women are: Mary Lou Allison Little, Dororthy Hanley Whiteside, Vivian White Marbury, Nannie Mae Gahn Johnson, Hattie Mae Dulin Redford, Bessie M. Downey Martin, and Cubena McClure. The group became an incorporated national collegiate sorority on December 30, 1929, when a charter was granted to Alpha chapter a

t Butler University. From seven young educators, Sigma Gamma Rho has become an international service organization comprised of women from every profession. Sigma Gamma Rho offers its members opportunities to develop their unique talents through leadership training and involvement in sorority activities. Sorority activities provide an atmosphere in which to build friendship, network, and also give back to the local communities. On January 31, 2021 Iota Phi Sigma reactivated their charter, re-establishing a foundation to be of sisterhood, scholarship and service, one again. Reactivation members include Sorors Debbie Suell-Tanner, Veronica Hill Chimney, Angela Martin-Terry, Kassondra Perry-Weaver, and Jamyia Barrett. The "Iconic" Iota Phi Sigma Chapter has taken up the task of providing Greater Service to the East TX community but more specifically Nacogdoches, TX.

Through unwavering dedication, faith, and perseverance, she has successfully completed all requirements to earn her Master of Science in Nursing Education. Soror Passmore exemplifies what it means to be hardworking, committed, and faithful—not only in her professional and academic pursuits, but also in her service to our beloved sisterhood.

We thank God for guiding her every step of the way and for granting her the strength to balance work, school, and her duties as a devoted member of Iota Phi Sigma. Truly, her journey is a testament to His grace and favor. ✨
