We had a lovely person donate these to Buckley's Pantry. These are for TONIGHT!!
Hi. I have BBQ tickets from High school. I already paid for it. I'm planning to put it inside the pantry. And anyone can grab it. It will be tonight at 5 to 7 to pick up the foods.

Today I went by the pantry and as I pulled up an elderly woman was walking away with 2 cans of food.
My husband wanted to stop her and tell her to take more. I told him that she most likely got just what she needed and knows that it is there when she needs more.
I just love this little pantry. It makes a difference in people’s lives. Those who use it and those who give.
Thank you everyone for supporting it.

Also consider stopping by the Welcome Booth Saturday during the Nacogdoches Farmers Market and donating by cash or card. This allows us to buy items in bulk or fill in holes when we see them.

I think we have some misconceptions as a society/community. Yes, the homeless and the very down and out will and do use the pantry. BUT so do your neighbors and your friends. Likely more than you think. ONE BIG MISCONCEPTION I keep seeing is baby food and such is not needed since WIC and SNAP exist. WRONG!!! Some CAN'T get help that way. Some WON'T get help that way... but are appreciative of help VOLUNTARILY GIVEN. Also realize as the economy falters and prices rise... a family that might be doing ok... suddenly is NOT... job loss, illness, car repair, medical bill.... even a higher utility bill or such. The whole point of this pantry is NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS. There are more families than you think who need this here and there... or frequently. When I donate... I do it freely with open hands and heart. I'll also tell you we have been in need before and friends and family helped out. I've also known friends and family in need and I've helped out. We are a community.
