JUNE IS CANCER SURVIVOR MONTH!
One of the great things about our Spring Gala held this past April was that there were many cancer survivors as guests or volunteers. Prevent-Heal-Thrive advisory board members Laurie McElwee and Noreen Arao (Pi) hold many titles.
They are both cancer thrivers, caregivers, entertainers, volunteers and contributors to not only Prevent-Heal-Thrive, but to many other causes and non-profits. They have our immense gratitude and admiration!

June is a very special month for PREVENT-HEAL-THRIVE!
National Cancer Survivors Month takes place every June to celebrate the millions of cancer survivors(we like to call them thrivers) and honor the caregivers, researchers, and advocates who support them.

Within this month, National Cancer Survivors Day is specifically held on the first Sunday of June. June 7, 2026

MAY IS SKIN CANCER AND MELANOMA AWARENESS MONTH.
This month is a reminder that early detection saves lives. Skin cancer can be preventable and highly treatable when caught early—making awareness, protection and regular screenings so important. Together, through research and action, we can make a difference.
