Flowers are already starting to bloom and soon the the flower baskets will be lining the streets of Myrtle Creek. New this year the Myrlte Creek Lions Club is dedicating the hanging flower basket project to one of the founders of the program, JoAnne Johnson, and in doing so I am happy to share that we are in full swing planning the 2026 JoAnne Johnson Memorial Hanging Flower Basket Program.

The Lions Club has committed to purchasing forty five (45) flower baskets to line the streets of downtown Myrtle Creek. These flowers are purchased through the generous donations made by local residents and businesses. Our goal is to raise $8,000 to cover the purchase cost of the flowers and for their care and watering.

Donations in any amount amount are welcome and can be sent to Myrtle Creek Lions Club, Attn: Flowers, PO Box 595, Myrtle Creek, OR 97457 or they can be dropped off at Myrtle Creek City Hall located at 207 NW Pleasant Street.

We are also looking for volunteers to help with watering the flowers on the weekends from mid May to mid September. The Lions Club pays $20 per watering trip. If you would like to help care for the flowers please reach out to Joanna Bilbrey at [email protected] or at 541-863-3171.
