The Free the Music Foundation is a non-profit (501(c)(3) pending) organization that addresses the growing gaps in music education in South Carolina. Increasing budget cuts in Arts education in South Carolina schools have resulted in a dramatic decrease in the availability of music programs. Because of this lack of music programs, students have begun to lose interest in music education all together

, both inside and outside the schools. The Free the Music Foundation has two primary goals; to impact students directly by inspiring and cultivating their interest in music; and to keep music in South Carolina schools alive by providing them with innovative, community-funded, instrument-specific instruction to students who desire to learn to play instruments or participate in other aspects of the music industry.
