Jesus was very clear about what made his way standout.
John Wesley, the pastor who launched the Methodist movement, didn't change the world from a pulpit.
He did it in a field, beyond the walls of sanctuaries, sharing a message of radical love and inclusive grace to people the church forgot.
He believed in a ministry that fulfilled the desires of Jesus (Luke 4:14-21 and a callback to the prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 61:1-3.):
"to proclaim good news to the poor.
to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free ..."
This Sunday, we're asking what it looks like to do the same.
Whatever it takes. Do that.
"The way we've always done it" isn't a thing here.
Letโs keep building something that will change the world!
If you're interested in being more vile and doing whatever it takes with us, would you mind sharing this with your networks? Then, pull up a chair with us this Sunday at Ten Oaks Middle School as we encourage one another to love more like Jesus.
