Happy Homecoming Day to First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach!!

According to the program for this celebration 74 years ago, the church acknowledged Mr. Chapin for being “instrumental in the giving of three lots to the church.” He “gave the brick and paid for many hours of labor when the church was remodeled.”

We are happy to continue the manifestation of his generosity through the work of the Chapin Foundation!

Welcome back to Chapin History Fact Friday! This week, the Foundation would like to highlight the history of our founder, Mr. Simeon B. Chapin.

Mr. Chapin was a visionary in planning for the future of a vibrant life in Myrtle Beach. His passion for addressing the physical, intellectual, and spiritual needs of all the citizens of Myrtle Beach is evident in the focus areas he chose for the Foundation: churches, the YMCA, public libraries, and public hospitals (now public healthcare organizations).

The Chapin Foundation would like to congratulate Horry-Georgetown Technical College on their Groundbreaking Ceremony for their new Nursing and Health Sciences Institute!

It was a beautiful ceremony to introduce the college’s plans for the institute and featured some key note speakers including Mr. Robert Hucks, Dr. Murphy Fore, SC Lieutenant Governor Mrs. Pamela Evette, Senator Greg Hembree, Representative Jeff Johnson, and our very own Chairman, Mr. Lawton Benton.

The Chapin Foundation is excited to see this up-and-coming institute come to life!
