My passion for kites has lead me to start a program that connects kids with kites

I wanted to give kids an outlet that would allow kids to just be kids and enjoy kites as much as I do. I started flying stunt kites over 30 y

ears ago in Ocean shores, Washington. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest I would ride my bike to the local soccer fields and later in College I would fly between classes. After college I took a break from kite flying to “grow up”

In 2020 I took a friend to kite festival where we won a stunt kite. Shortly after the festival Jon passed away and I began traveling flying all over United States. I flew Jon’s kite from the Pacific Ocean, The Badlands of South Dakota, a lighting storm in Okaboji Iowa, down to Texas with hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico till finally the wind blew me to the sands of Myrtle Beach South Carolina. I’ve now turned my passion for kiting into my full time job. I live on the beach so I’m able to fly any time. I work at a local kite shop, and spend every moment kiting in some form. (Flying, fixing, building, learning)

Kites n Kids is completely free to Schools and other Groups and is funded by my part time wages at a kite shop. However I am welcoming to donations through my GoFundMe

Genuine question for the fliers out there:

What’s the one thing that, once it clicked for you, changed how you fly 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 else?

Not a technique necessarily — could be a realization, a moment, a conversation. The thing where you can look back and say: *that was before, this is after.*

He has been such a big part of Kites and kids and has always supported our endeavors as long as they didn’t interfere with work schedule lol 😂

Bruce was one hell of a dude 😎❤️happy to have learned so much from the man

His giving spirit probably The one we hope to pass on through Kites and kids 🫶💯🙏
