Good morning everyone.

This post is to inform the membership of MBA2 and the public that this park serves on a daily basis of a change in operations. As you all know Horry County Run and Bike Park is a hidden gem at the beach. Recently conversations between MBA2 and Horry County Parks and Recreation about the park and the status of its trails have been a big topic. I am thrilled to share some exciting news regarding the Horry County Bike and Run Park and its future. Effective July 1, 2025 the Horry County Parks and Recreation Department will be taking over and leading the maintenance efforts at the Bike and Run Park. They have recently sent two staff members to the SORBA SUMMIT who have become certified.

MBA2 has served the park and its users for many years in a volunteer capacity, with this being said many different obstacles arise from volunteer turnout, volunteers being able to dedicate the time that the park needs, and one of the biggest challenges I have experienced is consistency. Obviously the list does not stop there. The MBA2 Board is in full support of this decision and feels it is in the best interest of the park. However, HCPR will be continuing to seek our help and volunteer efforts during their scheduled work days.

We understand that there may be different opinions on this decision but both parties agree that this is a positive direction for the park. This change will provide the park and its users consistency and guidance in trail maintenance and day to day operations. MBA2 will continue to be a club that's 2 main goals are to provide HCP&R volunteers on consistently scheduled work days and feedback from users.

Hi everyone there will be a USMTB race at Horry County Run and Bike Park on Saturday. We will be out in the park Thursday and Friday to prep if anyone wants to come out to help we will see you there.

As a community, we have the power to shape each other and our trails in a positive direction. I am deeply proud of our community's achievements and commitment to this sport. Additionally, I would like to emphasize the significance of our role in inspiring and nurturing the next generation of enthusiasts, as seen in the photos of children riding down the fire road. We have a responsibility to ensure the continued growth and prosperity of this sport for their benefit.
