Long Bay Youth Symphony Youth Symphony of the Grand Strand Dr. Charles Jones Evans is the Music Director and Conductor of the Long Bay Symphony and the Long Bay Youth Symphony.

The LBYS is a full symphony orchestra comprised of local students from schools all over Horry, Georgetown and Brunswick counties. The Long Bay Youth Symphony is open to players of all orchestral instruments, from 7th graders to college undergraduates (some exceptions to this may be granted, at the discretion of the director). The Long Bay Youth Symphony rehearses on Tuesday nights from 4:45pm to 7:15pm in the Band Hall on the campus of Coastal Carolina University, and performs three major concerts every year; one in the Fall, Winter and Spring. Last night was a great night at the ballpark with these four members of the Long Bay Youth Symphony (and Youth String Ensemble mentors) performing the National Anthem for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans Baseball Game. They played beautifully and we like to think that they helped inspire the team to their 7-2 victory! Bravo to Lilly, Lucas, Sarah, and Sophia!
