Dorothy “Dot” Robinson on her 1937 Harley-Davidson in 1945.
Dorothy was a motorcycle stunt woman in the 1930's and 1940's. She was the co-founder and first president of the women's riding group "Motor Maids" and held the president title for 25 years. Motor Maids was established in San Francisco in 1940 and was one of the first women's motorcycle groups created and is the oldest still existing in the United States.
Dorothy "Dot" Robinson, the wife of dealer Earl Robinson, competed alongside men in endurance races during the Depression. She was also co-owner of the Detroit dealership and a motorcycle courier during World War II. Known as "The First Lady of Motorcycling," she estimated logging over 1.5 million miles on motorcycles throughout her lifetime.🤍

It's once again the time of year where we come together and ride for our local children in need!❤️💚 Join us on Saturday, December 2nd for our 14th Annual Toy Run Ride! It's $10 per person or a new, unwrapped toy to register, and all proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross of South Carolina!🎁 Feel the joy of the holiday season in your hearts as we help show these kids how magical Christmas can truly be!🎄
