🏛️ A great Monday with the Mayor — and backpacks for the new school year!
Last Monday we had the honor of welcoming Mayor Mark Kruea to the podium, and he did not disappoint. Drawing on more than two decades as the voice of the City of Myrtle Beach, the Mayor shared a candid, energizing look at where our city is headed.

His message? Get to yes. 🙌 From the buzz of Carolina Country Music Fest to big plans for redeveloping the Pavilion site, from celebrating live music up and down the Grand Strand to building a whole-city vision for tomorrow — the Mayor reminded us that this is a moment of real opportunity for Myrtle Beach. "We need to be intentional about change," he told the room. We couldn't agree more.

And in true Rotary fashion, service was at the center of the day. 🎒 We were proud to present a $500 check to SLC Community Life in support of back-to-school backpacks for the 2026–2027 school year — helping equip local students and families to succeed not just in school, but in life. A big thank you to the Mayor for helping us hand it off!

The founder of Rotary, Paul Harris, laying down the principles of Service Above Self in a way you’ve definitely never heard before. Creative, hilarious, and honestly? The message still hits — fellowship, service, integrity, and making a difference in our communities.

This is exactly the kind of energy that makes District 7770 special. We take the mission seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. 🎵

🌸 District 7770 Spring Assembly is underway!

A great morning at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College — Rotarians from across the district connecting over coffee and continental breakfast before we get down to business. Always good to put faces to names and catch up with friends from other clubs.

Standing together for the Pledge of Allegiance to kick things off — a reminder of the shared values that bring us together as Rotarians: Service Above Self, for our communities and our country. 🇺🇸

🚔 Congratulations to Detective Chris Holmes — the 2025 Officer Joe McGarry Memorial Police Officer of the Year! 🏅

The Rotary Club of Myrtle Beach proudly recognized Detective Holmes today at our 60th Annual ceremony.

In his own words, what he loves most is helping families — and his work as a detective has built relationships that last well beyond the cases themselves. Families still keep in touch years after his team helped them through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. 💙

That says everything about the heart behind the badge.

This Monday, May 11th, the Rotary Club of Myrtle Beach proudly presents the 60th Annual Officer Joe McGarry Memorial Police Officer of the Year ceremony.

For six decades, our club has gathered to honor one officer from the Myrtle Beach Police Department who exemplifies Service Above Self — and to recognize all those nominated by their peers for outstanding dedication, courage, and community impact. 🏅

🌸 What a night at our 2026 Spring Fling! Members came together for a fantastic evening of food, fun, and fellowship. We enjoyed a delicious Mexican spread from El Cerro, craft cocktail samples from Tudor with Noble Sip, and wine samples courtesy of Scout & Cellar.

We also had a prize raffle, lots of great items were won Deb Kataryniak Granda and a 50/50 — congratulations to Ginger on taking home the 50/50! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and supported the club. Nights like these are what Rotary is all about!

⚾ What an incredible morning GS Miracle Leagues Grand Strand Miracle League!

Today, our Rotary Club was proud to serve as the Game Day Sponsor — and we didn’t just show up, we rolled up our sleeves! 🙌

Our members hit the field as buddies, walking alongside players every step of the way. Trust us, the smiles on that field were contagious. 😊 We also fired up the grill, making sure everyone went home with a full belly. 🌭🍔

The Miracle League gives every athlete the chance to experience the joy of baseball, and we are honored to play a part in making that happen.

💛 Thank you to our volunteers, the Miracle League staff, and every player who reminded us why we serve.
