Here is a meditation given by ECM Committee Vice President Rose Wilson, from Cursillo in the Diocese of Georgia during the April 2026 ECM Committee meeting.
Meditation on the Invocation of the Holy Spirit
Let us invite the Holy Spirit to the forefront of our minds, and give thanks for the Spirit’s guidance, protection, and love.
Come Holy Spirit. Fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in us the fire of your love.
This is our deepest need - that our hearts be filled with the grace Jesus has given us.
Let us be filled with joy, grateful that we are free to worship Him openly, day by day.
Send forth your Spirit, and we shall be created.
Through the Holy Spirit, we are created and continually nurtured.
We have our earthly families, but we have our holy father and our precious brother Jesus and the Holy Spirit leading us, guiding us and challenging us to stay close.
And you shall renew the face of the earth.
We know from our Cursillo experience that yes, there is that beautiful evangelism of being a friend, making a friend and bringing a friend to Jesus. What a wonderful sight to see, that we do renew the face of the earth, one soul at a time.
O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit did instruct the hearts of the faithful.
Do we seek that light each day?
Do we take time to sit quietly and listen to be instructed, as to how to touch the hearts of others to beckon them also to be faithful. Through our piety, Christian study, and Christian action, we can lead by example. Let us remain humble and kind in our thoughts, words and actions.
Grant that by the same Holy Spirit, we may be truly wise and ever enjoy Your consolations.
Do we say these words or do we feel these words? Are they in our heart, in our soul, and in our mind, that we can be truly wise to ponder and consider how God has guided us to be closer to him, our Jesus and the Holy Spirit. It is through him that all the joy and peace are in our lives and the lives of others that we touch. Let us be worthy of feeling and sharing this with others through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
