The Canadian Valley Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution had a blessed time yesterday morning supporting the El Reno 75th National Day of Prayer, attended by City of El Reno and Canadian County officials, along with many other leaders and members of the community.

It was a wonderful opportunity to gather together in prayer for our nation, our state, our local communities, and our future. We are always honored to stand alongside fellow citizens in support of faith, patriotism, and service.

A special thank you as well to Pastor Ben and the entire Discovery Church El Reno team for graciously hosting the event and helping make the morning such a meaningful and encouraging time for everyone involved.

We would also like to thank the El Reno Chamber of Commerce and President Karen Nance for the invitation and for their continued support of events that bring the community together.

This past weekend, members of the Canadian Valley Chapter joined our friends from the Sons of the American Revolution Oklahoma City Chapter for a trip down to Fort Sill to take part in some excellent 18th century artillery training.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the team at the Fort Sill National Historic Landmark and Museum for welcoming us and allowing us to learn more about historic artillery operations. A special thanks also goes to the outstanding artillery crew who took the time to show us the ropes and share their knowledge and experience.

Training opportunities like this help us better interpret and demonstrate Revolutionary War era artillery during our public programs and commemorations as we approach the United States of America250 Semiquincentennial.

We are grateful for the opportunity and look forward to partnering again in future events as we continue working to bring history to life for our communities.

And save it they did! Huzzah to the Cunningham ladies and the women of America who stepped forward when it mattered most. 🇺🇸

In 1853, Louisa Bird Cunningham wrote these words to her daughter, Ann Pamela Cunningham, after seeing the decrepit state of George Washington's home while traveling on the Potomac River.

Inspired by her mother's words, Cunningham took it upon herself to challenge the nation to save Mount Vernon.

🇺🇸 Honored to Represent at the Cinch Timed Event Championship 🇺🇸

This weekend, members of the Canadian Valley Chapter SAR, alongside compatriots from the Oklahoma City Chapter SAR, had the incredible honor of presenting the colors for the National Anthem at the legendary Lazy E Arena during the Cinch Timed Event Championship in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

The Cinch Timed Event Championship is widely known as the “Ironman of Pro Rodeo,” bringing together the most elite all around cowboys in the sport to compete in five demanding timed events over three days of competition.

Before the Championship event began, our Color Guard proudly marched into the arena to present the colors and fire a ceremonial musket volley in honor of our nation. Being able to participate in such an iconic western sporting event during the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution made the moment even more meaningful.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Lazy E Arena for inviting the Sons of the American Revolution to be part of this special evening and allowing us to help honor our country and its history before thousands of fans.

A special thank you as well to our Ladies Auxiliary, Oklahoma Society Sons of the American Revolution, whose dedication behind the scenes ensures these moments are preserved. Their efforts capturing photos and videos make it possible for us to share and remember these incredible opportunities. Without their continued support, it would be difficult to document the many events we are honored to participate in.

It is truly a privilege to represent the legacy of the patriots who fought for our independence 250 years ago.

🇺🇸 We are proud to serve, proud to remember, and proud to represent.

🇺🇸 America 250 Park Bench Dedication Ceremony 🇺🇸

Members of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Daughters of the American Revolution are preparing for a meaningful tribute in advance of America’s 250th anniversary.

Concrete pads have now been installed for the America250 commemorative park benches at Oklahoma Veterans Cemetery, with the benches scheduled to be installed early next week. These benches will serve as a lasting memorial honoring the patriots of the American Revolution and the generations who have defended the freedoms they secured.

This effort is part of the nationwide commemoration of the United States Semiquincentennial, marking 250 years since the founding of the United States in 1776.

The Canadian Valley Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution is proud to play our part in this grand occasion and to help preserve the memory and legacy of the men and women whose sacrifices established our nation.

Additional details regarding the bench dedication ceremony will be announced soon. 🇺🇸

Serving Our Communities Through Preparedness

Members of the Canadian Valley Chapter and the Oklahoma City Chapter recently attended a Stop the Bleed Coalition training class hosted by the Ladies Auxiliary, Oklahoma Society Sons of the American Revolution. Participants learned practical, life-saving techniques designed to help individuals in distress during critical situations, including methods to control severe bleeding and provide immediate aid until professional responders arrive.

The class was led by Dr. Travis Vernier, MD, of the OU College of Medicine, whose expertise and instruction provided members with valuable real-world skills and confidence to respond in emergencies. We are grateful for his leadership and willingness to share this important knowledge.

This hands-on training reflects our shared commitment to service, preparedness, and being ready to assist our communities when it matters most. We are proud of the members who participated and continue expanding their ability to serve others with confidence and compassion.

A sincere thank you to everyone involved in organizing and hosting this meaningful program.
