Muskogee Bridges

Muskogee Bridges We also educate the entire community about the complexities of poverty.

Empowers those experiencing poverty to identify and overcome the barriers that keep them from getting ahead & educates the entire community on the complexities of poverty. Muskogee Bridges Out of Poverty is a local community initiative that helps families experiencing poverty to radically change their lives by identifying and overcoming barriers that are keeping them from Getting Ahead. Using the

concepts developed by Dr. Ruby Payne, Phil DeVol and Terri Dreussi-Smith in their book Bridges Out of Poverty, the initiative seeks to empower those in poverty to identify and use the abilities they already have to solve their own problems through analyzing their realities. Community workshops for business, industry, schools, colleges, city employees, churches, police and fire departments, local service providers and interested community volunteers are available upon request.

This was such a beautiful last-minute surprise. Thank you, Dennis Hendricks, for writing this special song for our graduation.
We truly appreciate it so much.
Here is the translation of the song lyrics.

Bridges Crossed (Spanish version)

Verse 1
You walked a long and difficult road,
days that made you stumble,
but you kept going, steady step by step,
holding your dream within your arms.

Pre-Chorus
And look at you now in this place,
with courage shining in your face.

Chorus
Bridges built, bridges crossed,
your struggle became strength, not loss.
Muskogee cries out, “Pride lives here!”
for every mile that brought you near.
You rose above and stayed true to the way,
today is your day to celebrate.

Verse 2
You showed the power to endure,
to choose hope and keep moving forward,
and at Saint Paul the walls vibrate today,
with every voice saying, “Bravo to me!”

Chorus
Bridges built, bridges crossed,
your struggle became strength, not loss.
Muskogee cries out, “Pride lives here!”
for every mile that brought you near.

Final Tag
Keep walking strong,
your community will walk beside you.
